Workers cars are getting broken into. Yet nothing is done to ensure the safety of the staff here. As well as them claiming to not have cameras and not lighting the outside area properly for their staff members to get to their vehicles safely. If they don’t have cameras and aren’t supporting their hard working staff during motor break ins, I can only imagine how the patients are being treated😔😭

Their staff are not protected. When their cars are broken into repeatedly there is nothing done to protect their staff. It makes me worried about how they treat their patients

I recently visited The Haven to see a dear friend who had just moved in. At first glance, the facility looked lovely—tastefully decorated and seemingly calm. But it didn’t take long to see past the surface, and what I discovered was deeply troubling. The first major red flag was the lack of staff—not because the caregivers were inattentive, but because there simply weren’t enough of them. It was clear they were stretched far too thin to provide the level of care these residents deserve. As I looked around more closely, I noticed filthy air vents throughout the facility. Some had visible mold and dust buildup, and the airflow in several areas felt stale and poor—completely unacceptable in any healthcare environment, especially for vulnerable seniors. This isn’t just unpleasant; it’s a serious health hazard. The wall colors were another concern. They were overwhelming and visually confusing—completely inappropriate for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients who benefit from calming, familiar environments. And during mealtime, I noticed staff were not assisting or encouraging residents to wash their hands before eating—something that should be a basic health and dignity standard in any care setting. To make matters worse, there was no registered nurse (RN) present during my visit—raising serious concerns about the level of medical oversight. But let me be clear: this is not a staff failure. The caregivers on the floor were kind and clearly trying their best under strained conditions. The real issue lies with the corporation that runs *The Haven*. It’s obvious that profits are being prioritized over people—staffing is inadequate, maintenance is neglected, and critical care standards are being overlooked to save money. Families entrust their loved ones to these facilities with the expectation of safety, dignity, and compassion. Sadly, The Haven—under its current corporate leadership—falls far short.

My Dad moved there 3 1/2 years ago. It initially was all you could wish for. Then private equity firm Aleris Life purchased them. The subsequent decline could not have been, in my opinion and experience, more dramatic and tragic. Concerned families tried for months to get local and corporate management to correct. Management proved to be disinterested and deceitful at the highest level. Ultimately the state investigated in March 2025. The investigation took months and substantiated lack of staffing at a Type A1 level (the worst finding) and lack of supervision at a Type B level. Fines were issued and new admissions suspended. The restrictions were still in place, according to my understanding, as of mid June 2025. As recently as last week( ~ June 7, 2025) residents continue to fall suffering grievous injuries as a result, in my opinion, of purposeful lack of staffing. I moved my Dad out several weeks ago due to the dangerous conditions. The situation here should be criminal and hopefully someday will be.

The Haven seems to be loosing good staff. Management is never around and does not answer questions. Cleanliness is “zero”. I’ve witnessed dirty bathrooms, lack of staff, residents in other residents clothing, residents not looking clean and resident throwing up and nobody around to tent to them. It wasn’t until myself and my loved one told a staff member who was all the way in the clinic sitting. Needless to say we are thankfully done with the Haven..👎🏻
