THE HOMESTEAD OF TOPEKA

They are angels. They such good care of my mother for the last of her days. They truly care about the residents and family of residents.

My husband spent his last months at Homestead of Topeka. What a remarkable elder care facility! What is unique about Homestead is the continuity of staff, the connections staff make with residents AND their families, and their ongoing attempts to engage the residents at different levels depending on their needs. There is rarely a vacancy at Homestead and now I realize why. Homestead has built a culture of teamwork and groom their staff to be the best of the best. If my husband couldn't be with me, I'm so happy he was surrounded by his Homestead family.

My dad lived in Homestead for a year and was able to go home. When he needed to go back into assisted living, he chose to go back there, which is a great compliment to the staff and overall facilities. The night he passed away, I was so honored to see so many of the staff come in to pay their respects late at night when they weren't even on duty. You could tell the relationship there between staff and residents was very strong. Thank you, Homestead, for everything!

I can't say enough good things about Homestead! My mom lived at Homestead the last six weeks of her life. I got to see first hand how attentive, caring, funny, friendly, loving and sincere the staff is. For the first time in years my mother was participating in activities and singing hymns at church. My only wish is that we would have moved mom their sooner. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. At Homestead my mom felt safe, seen, heard and cared for. She could finally let go and be a peace knowing she lived her remaining days surrounded by people who loved her. Thank you for giving her that gift.

My mother is 92 and has lived at Homestead for the past 16 months. This was such a hard decision to make, and she has thrived! The staff are so kind and caring, and they keep me well informed of how she is doing. They offer an amazing array of activities--- everything from outings on the bus (which she loves), bingo and crafts, yoga and exercise, opportunities for church service and devotions, and LOTS of great music-related events. Families are encouraged to visit any time, and have multiple opportunities to attend events throughout the year. I have seen time and time again how hard this staff team works to meet each resident where they are and provide loving and caring support. It truly is a magical place for those that need this type of care, and I would highly recommend Homestead to anyone!
