THE IVY OF MCKINNEY

AVOID. I just took a tour of the facility while looking for a home for my father. We met with Ericka, the Community Relations Director in the office to the left of the front door. The office smelled HEAVILY of marijuana. When I stated, “Hm, why does it smell like marijuana in here?” I got no response. I will be reporting them to the state. In addition, on our tour when we stated we would maybe be interested in a studio apartment she knocked and entered someone’s occupied apartment to show us. She insisted the tenant didn’t mind, but it felt highly invasive and I wouldn’t want someone entering my father’s room for a tour whenever they felt like it. I wouldn’t send any family members here and I would be concerned for anyone who currently does.

My dad is so happy at The Ivy of McKinney. They take really good care of him and you can tell that they really do care about each and every person. There are so many activities that each day is just a joy. My dad especially comments on how excellent the food is and the great entertainment that they bring in. Cleanliness has always been a big deal for him. He absolutely loves the cleaning staff and says they do a great job. Sending out a big thank you to Paula and her staff.

The Ivy of McKinney is truly a place that feels like home! The staff is friendly and loving. All of the residents are smiling and happy. Even all of the family members visiting are happy, caring, and so inviting. I love feeling right at home when I visit loved ones here! Thank you all for ALL you do!!!

The staff at Ivy of McKinney are so great and happy to help their residents as quickly as possible and as much as possible. They provide a happy, cozy environment for their residents and host multiple daily activities. With knowledgeable staff, it helps make the decision to move and it’s process easier. Not to mention the great food prepared by the kitchens staff! It’s very nice that their assisted living apartments come equipped with a full kitchenette + full-size W/D too. The apartments are well sized and offer a cozy vibe. I would highly recommend Ivy of McKinney to anyone searching for a happy and quality new home for a loved one.

The Ivy has been a perfect place for my parents and now my mom. The staff is warm and loving to all the residents. My mom loves that they remember her name. It is fun to see how the lobby is decorated for each holiday and season. It definitely makes you feel at home and helps remind my mom what season or holiday it is. The apartments are spacious and we had fun making it feel like home for my mom. My mom enjoys going to the dinner room for each meal and sitting with her friends. The food is very good and offers a good variety. Both my parents enjoyed the musical programs in the afternoon several times a month. It makes me happy to see my mom singing the old songs and a smile on her face. It makes my life easier that Angela is in the salon to do my moms hair every other week. She loves to have her hair done. I appreciate that the staff helps her pick-out her clothes and jewelry. Overall, I am very happy with Mom living at the Ivy.
