My 95 year old mother lived at Colonial Lodge for over 2 years. She was able to maintain her independence there as well as getting the care she needed. The first thing I noticed about the facility was the residents as well as the staff were happy. Everyone I met in the hallway was smiling. Mom never complained about this facility and enjoyed the Bingo games a great deal. She was allowed to take her little dog and life was very good for her here. It was such a comfort to me to know she was safe and had good food fixed for her and to know her apartment was cleaned as well as her clothes were washed for her. I'm very thankful for all the staff and support we received while mom was a resident there.

We placed my mother at this facility. She has dementia and after the first week they had her so medicated she couldn't keep her eyes open and her speech was greatly diminished. They then sent her to a psychiatric hospital to have her assessed claiming she was aggressive. They had with no intentions of bringing her back. The hospital saw no signs of aggression what so ever and stated that the behaviors she displayed were very much associated with dementia. The lodge evicted her stated that their facility was not the right fit. This facility should not be classified as a memory facility as they do not have any idea how to care for patients with dementia, unless they don't move around or are medicated to the point where they can't move. Please learn from my families mistake and do not place anyone at this facility.

Please don't put your loved one in this place. We put my mom in this place and it was good at first. But as soon as my mom's dementia got worse they informed me they were evicting her. Please ask questions about that before you put your loved one in.

Always smells nice in the community and all residents are very well cared for. Very "homey" and well laid out. Residents schedules are very full with activities offered throughout all 3 buildings. I would place my grandparents or any loved one of mine in this community and know without a shadow of a doubt that they are receiving the proper care.
