I would recommend the Orchard to anyone who’s looking for care for a loved one. Huge shoutouts to Mrs. Lula Hairston and her staff who took care of my mom from 2011-2022. Also many thanks to Sandra Strain for her valuable insight and support as well.

While visiting my mother during her dinner at the memory care section of the orchard, staff members were screaming at each other with one yelling “you lay off me ! You lay off me” standing up taking an aggressive posture. This was in response to the other staff yelling at her repeatedly about moving a patient to a different table. The patient was already comfortably positioned and about to be fed but instead was pushed across the room in the heavy dining chair through two tables resulting in a cry of pain from one patient as the chair was being shoved. I thought that at any moment the altercation between these staff could become physical. I asked to speak to an administrator on call and was told I would receive a return response but I did not. During my three day visit many staff keep their voices raised to these quiet and vulnerable elderly ladies ordering them around. I will continue to reach someone in authority that cares but this hasn’t happened to this point.

I visited The Orchard yesterday (11/29/23) and was so impressed with this beautiful facility! It feels & looks like a lovely home❣️I had a delicious lunch (from a menu with choices). I chose the most delicious chicken cordon bleu with veggies & lemon meringue pie for my dessert choice. My lunch was in their formal dining room beautifully decorated for Christmas, tall ceilings, beautiful chandelier, and the real fireplace had a comfy roaring fire going! I didn’t see the inside of any apartments, but I have a friend who is a resident there, and she loves her space; even has her baby grand piano! All who work there are very friendly, helpful, and I think love what they do for the residents. I would highly recommend The Orchard & may find myself living there one day . M. Thaxton

Sandra Strain, the Director of Community Relations for The Orchard gave us a tour of the new facility for Memory Care, The Rose Garden. It is a beautiful facility with large rooms, granite countertops, and nice sized bathrooms. They offer single and double rooms with great amenities. The dining room is spacious with natural light and wonderful colors. There are quiet rooms with soft blues and calming colors. The staff there is friendly and caring. Sandra is wonderfully kind to everyone and is passionate about making sure staff and residents are happy. Great, safe place!

I came to the grand opening of The Rose Garden and it was beautiful. It felt like a lovely home and residents have a social life. That's very important to me. The gazebo outside was gorgeous. The food was absolutely amazing. So glad we have a place like this for loved ones.
