As a resident at The Palms at Sun City, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for IP Manager Gena Yates. From the beginning, she has created an environment that feels safe, orderly, and very comfortable. Gena Yates listens carefully, responds quickly, and handles every concern with professionalism and genuine care. Because of her dedication, I feel well-supported and at ease living here. I am truly grateful for the reliable and welcoming atmosphere she maintains every day.

Two of my senior neighbors moved there. Ages 83, 95. Great food, courteous staff. Lots of things to do. Great shuttle service. They like it very much. Great choices of apartments. Variety of prices. No buy in, pay monthly. You can start in Independent then, Assisted, then Memory Care. I would choose it for friends, or...myself.

Moving across country is never easy for anyone, but it’s especially difficult for a 91-year old woman who is still grieving the recent, and unexpected, passing of her first son. That woman is my mom, Connie. Mom had been living on her own in an apartment complex in Colorado for many years, which was becoming more and more difficult. Despite every effort, we (her kids) could not convince her to move somewhere where she’d have more support. She continued to refuse our help even after the recent loss of her son, my brother, which was a devastating blow. In her grief, she stopped socializing, stopped eating, and became more and more depressed as the days went by. She was spiraling and we knew we had to do something to help her get back on track - and fast. She needed to be in an environment that’s warm and sunny, where the people are cheerful, loving, supportive, and kind. And where the food is plenty - and plenty delicious. That place is The Palms in Sun City. The minute my sister and I walked into the lobby and met Melissa Long, I knew we were in the right place. Melissa is a bundle of sunshine that beams with positivity and kindness. The residents were buzzing about, cheerful, happy - and laughing with each other! They would greet each other with smiles, stop and chat, and check in with one another. It was obvious that the residents - and Melissa - genuinely care for each other. The Palms truly is a community. Melissa was a fantastic guide the whole way through the entire process. She went above and beyond all of our expectations. Without her kind guidance, we would have been lost. She was never pushy or overly “salesy”. Instead, she was patient, kind, understanding, and just a joy to work with. Since moving into The Palms, my mom has made several new friends - her bestie is lovely Virgie - who we all completely adore. Virgie immediately took my mom under her wing and helped my mom to not be afraid. Virgie helped her understand that she’s safe at The Palms - and that everything is going to be alright. We will be forever grateful to our dear Virgie for helping mom feel welcome. Seeing them together, two peas in a pod, makes my heart smile. My mom is smiling again, laughing again, eating again, and enjoying life again. And it’s all because of the love that emulates from the entire community of people at The Palms - the lovely gem of a place my mom now happily calls home.

I just love The Palms . My mom moved in a few months ago and we are so happy with the care. The care team there is fabulous. Everybody is so nice. They do such a good job. We moved mom because she was not getting the care she needed. We had one instance where a care provider took over half an hour to reply to her pendant being pressed. We’ve never had to wait at The Palms, somebody shows up right away. They were just so wonderful. I would recommend The Palms to anyone and everyone it’s such a great place.

The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the remodeling is still in the planning phase. We have lived here for almost 2 years now, and we are very happy. The apartments are the biggest you will find anywhere and are very quiet. Beautiful grounds with lots of trees. We lived through the prior management debacle and greeted Stellar with great relief in December. They have improved almost every facet of life here. Breakfasts are now wonderful! Food in general is improving. My husband now drags me out of bed each morning so he can get down to the dining room for his eggs! The flooring samples are looking great, and the painting should be starting soon as we begin to open up this month. (Almost all of us have now received both Covid vaccinations thanks to Stellar's efforts.) Activities are beginning to resume, and people are moving in. By summer, I expect to see us approaching capacity. So, if you moved out in the last year due to the management here, come take another look! We miss you!
