THE PRAIRIE FARMSTEAD EAST

Prairie Elder Care is a wonderful place that is unlike any other. If you have visited any other assisted living community and then come to the Farmstead you will immediately notice the differences and the feeling of being at home that the farms envelop you with as soon as you walk through the doors. The care provided by staff is exceptional, and families are consistently impressed by the high level of care provided for their family members.

Our mom joined the Prairie Elder Care family three months ago. It is hard to put into words how wonderful they have made the transition from her home of 47 years in a different state to Prairie Elder. We are so grateful for our experience starting with our tour, to getting strategies on how to make a successful move, and helping her transition. Each time I walk in I feel at home and love the interactions between the staff and the residents. The communication is excellent and the care is exceptional. The staff, residents, and family of the residents are all so welcoming and in just three months feel like family to me too! As my mom said today, "I'm happy and everyone around here seems happy too!" I truly think Prairie Elder is the best of Kansas City!

Time had come to decide where my wife Beverly was going to go as Alzheimer’s was making her difficult to manage. I was not sure of what we might find. Friends kept telling me about Prairie Elder Care especially because of its uniqueness, The Farmstead. Finally one of our sons said “ let’s take a look!” When the door opened you could feel the electricity of the group batting the balloon around to each other. We watched for a few minutes then stepped on the patio and saw the animals: goats and pigs, special chickens and a beautiful produce garden right in front of your eyes. I was sold! It is a facility like no other and the caring and giving is outstanding 24/7. It has become a home away from home with everyone looking after all the residents as if they were their own. Before you decide you need to explore Prairie Elder Care Farmstead, I think you would like for your loved one to be here also.

We found Prairie Elder Care after touring 8 different facilities. We knew this homey, bright & friendly place was a perfect fit for our Dad. The staff is caring, warm, enthusiastic, engaging and well trained in Dementia care. The farm setting offers many opportunities for the residents to get out and enjoy the farm animals, the gardens, activities in the barn and just sitting on the porch. We are very thankful to have found a place where our Dad is safe and well taken care of.

My mother moved into PEC 4 months ago… and our family could not be happier! The caregivers are thoughtful, positive, and supportive. Each day there are activities ranging from music, to dog visits, to crafts and/or music. And my mom’s favorite spot is sitting outside watching the farm animals and garden. There is so much stimulation and residents are encouraged to be sharing the communal space, not in there rooms alone. Our family chose to move mom here from out of state because NOTHING compared to this place for memory care. It is a home for mom… and we’ve gained a bigger family in the process! Highly recommend!
