The Retreat (Now English Meadows) at Fishersville has always been one of my favorite communities to partner with, as well as visit in the area. The facility is clean, updated, and modern which contributes to a positive atmosphere! And now with Terrika there as the new Executive Director, there have been even more positive changes that can only be attributed to her vision and leadership. They offer a range of amenities and activities that many residents enjoy!

I have often had the opportunity to go to The Retreat at Fishersville as an outside home health employee. I have always found the staff there to be quite friendly, considerate, and compassionate. My concerns have always been addressed in a prompt manner. I would certainly give them high marks as an assisted living facility and want to personally thank them for their kind assistance. Wish I could leave zero stars. My mother in law has been a resident in memory care for over a month, and my husband has tried for the entire time to speak to her physician to no avail. She was released to this facility from a psychiatric hospital with the explicit need for 24/7 memory care and a diagnosis of Korsakoff Syndrome, but just a few weeks into her residency at The Retreat, the clinical staff began making plans to move her to assisted living, claiming she does not have dementia and she has no reason to be in memory care. No one in leadership here will ever return our calls, and that is not an exaggeration. We have been kept in the dark about her care while she grows more belligerent every day. They also refuse to take her to appointments and have zero activities planned for residents. We will be looking for another ALF to care for her, even though her dementia has declined with every move, because of the flagrant lack of communication with her family members throughout her entire time there.
