The Vero at Chesapeake

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the care provided to our mom while in memory care at The Vero. From the director, Victoria, and her executive team to Wanda and all of the staff at The Bridges (memory care unit), everyone was wonderful. The facility is beautiful and spacious. My mom had dementia and could be difficult at times or she would get anxious and the staff always took time to do something to settle her, whether it was taking her for a walk, getting her her favorite snack or just sitting and talking with her. They were all so loving, caring and patient. The staff also kept her active, making sure she and all of the other residents were out in the common areas most of the day, doing activities or going on fun field trips or just staying busy in some way. My brother would take my mom golfing, which was her favorite thing to do. The staff knew there were some other golfers in the facility and arranged to take a few of those golfers out golfing with my mom and brother because the staff knew it would be special for them. That’s just another example of how the team at the Vero really cares that every resident has a fulfilling experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for her to live. Thank you to everyone there for keeping our mom safe and comfortable!

Everyone at the Vero is top-notch. I couldn't have found a better place for my Mom to be in a Memory Care facility. The atmosphere is family oriented and there are regular events for family and friends to attend on a regular basis. I am thrilled that my mom is such a great place.

I will start with the good. The Vero is a beautiful facility. The employees are friendly and there are plenty of activities. However, the food has a lot to be desired. When something breaks it takes forever to get it fixed. No phone service for months! One of the elevators broke and again months to get it fixed. Maybe it’s because they’re a new facility but they certainly don’t have their act together yet.

This facility is beautiful and clean, the residence were having a great time. The rooms are nice and cozy. The staff was very nice, helpful, and very knowledgeable able. I really love it. My only concern is price. All of these facilities are very expensive. It not just this one its all of them. I understand most things are included. This particular facility only charges what you need and will fluctuate accordingly, which is great. My feelings are this. People work their lives away and pay into insurance, Medicare Medicaid, and Social Security. Why do these places not take them. The only thing they take is long-term. A lot of people can not afford long-term on top of the rest. It's not fair to our seniors.

Everyone is Amazing at this Beautiful community! From the front lobby with Liz to the nursing Director Crystal and nurse Niq. Stephanie in activities keeps everyone busy and the occupants always make me smile!
