I live out of state. I helped move my 96 year old Grandmother into this facility. The rest of my family raved about this place. My 1st impression: lobby appeared elegant, however, there was a lingering urine smell (kinda expected). As I pushed passed that, my grandmother's room was almost a mile away from the dining room. Her room was not ready as promised (cleaning, fresh paint, & a faulty ceiling fan replacement). Once we made a few calls, that was finally handled. It totally derailed move-in day, unfortunately. Fast forward 6 ish months. I get a text weekly from my grandmother & she is beside herself with the lack of everyday compassion. My heart aches as I read her texts. She's a very spry & vocal 96 year old that doesn't put up with any crap for her or any of her friends she has made. Answer me this: what is going on with meals there?! My grandmother prides herself when it came to home cooked meals. Now, I understand that a "home cooked" vibe may not be attainable in an assisted living facility, however, you guys have GOT to do better in this department! It's unbelievable what our family is hearing. We've been secretly working on a solution to rescue her from this unfortunate choice our family has made. She is NOT happy here, not even in the slightest. P.S. my grandmother has also not received her mail the entire time she's been a resident here. They keep "telling" her that they will have her mailbox setup soon. Isn't 6-7 months long enough to wait for mail. 96 years olds thrive on mail! I always send her cards & have stopped until she gets her mailbox. Do not send your happy family members here. They will NOT be happy!

Everyone is always smiling. Everyone is always so nice and pleasant willing to help any time and the food is delicious. I’ve eaten with Miss Beverly Hall several times and the food was very good. The people that wait On you in the dining area are extremely nice. I think it’s a very pleasant place. Nice clean and pretty.

My grandmother has lived in 3 assisted livings in different states in the US and this one has been without a doubt the most concerning. It is never fun to relocate unless it is necessary - such as the family moving to a new state - but after months of waiting for Waterford to improve conditions we will now be making the in state move to another facility. Management, food quality, forgotten meals, having to deduce my grandmother was having stroke symptoms after her, my aunt and I requested evaluations and insisted she go to hospital. She did in fact have a stroke. Shower days being missed/changed without notification, transportation - weeks-months without it regularly, lack of activities and outings, communication and reliability are just some of the biggest concerns. We have had several events in each category. Too many to possibly type out individually, but enough to justify complaints with the AHCA. Administratively we have experienced surprise undiscussed charges that were more than 30% of her agreed to regular rate. Without any notice or discussion of change in care or change in need. Had we not noticed would have been an extra $1500/month auto drafted from her account. I can’t imagine how many times this has happened to residents without their knowledge. Individually some staff and individual caregivers have been extremely kind and helpful. I am so grateful for those who have put in the effort. Unfortunately, the overall the experience has still been unorganized, negligent and at times unsafe. I am fortunate my grandmother is cognitive, social, communicative and aware. I am fortunate to live nearby. I could not imagine trusting this facility with the care of anyone who was not able to advocate for themselves. Nor would I recommend Waterford to anyone.

I am very impressed with The Waterford at Carpenter’s Creek. The Administration there are very professional and also very friendly with great personalities! The Staff are caring and sweet. My parents feel safe and comfortable in their apartment. They like that they can move around the facility and also participate in the activities that are provided for the residents! There are things that could be improved, but I feel that’s minor compared to all the wonderful things that are going well! Here’s a picture of my parents COL (Ret) Allan Ford and Lisbeth Ford, with their family, in the common area at Carpenter’s Creek!
