I am incredibly grateful to have spent some of Thanksgiving at Touchmark. Having worked in retirement communities myself, I came in with high expectations—and this community exceeded every one of them. From the moment I arrived, the staff were genuinely welcoming and kind, creating an atmosphere that felt both joyful and heartfelt. The dining team outdid themselves with a beautifully prepared Thanksgiving buffet that was not only delicious but thoughtfully presented. What truly stood out to me, though, was the sense of togetherness. There was a social table where residents, family and staff gathered to work on crosswords, puzzles, and games together—laughing, connecting, and simply enjoying each other’s company. It was a meaningful reminder of what community should feel like.

I’ve had the opportunity to attend multiple large events at Touchmark, and each time I walk away impressed all over again. The dedication this community shows—not just to creating memorable experiences, but to truly supporting meaningful causes—is remarkable. Their commitment to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s through thoughtfully planned events is especially moving. These gatherings go beyond entertainment; they bring residents, families, staff, and the greater community together in a way that feels intentional and heartfelt. You can feel the purpose behind everything they do. Touchmark consistently proves that community is built through connection, compassion, and shared causes. It’s inspiring to witness a place that doesn’t just host events, but uses them to make a real difference.

Growing up on the South Hill as a kid, I never understood how special this place was until I got a little older. It's not just a place to live; it's a place to belong. What stands out most is how intentionally Touchmark residents integrate into the life of the neighborhood—encouraging engagement, relationships, and a continued sense of purpose. For families looking for a community that honors both independence and care, and for anyone who appreciates the unique beauty and spirit of South Hill, Touchmark represents the very best of what this area has to offer.
