Our family is incredibly grateful for Oakridge Cottage. Choosing this residential facility was one of the best decisions we ever made for our parents. Although our mom was there only briefly, our dad lived there for a year before he passed away and received truly exceptional care. For the first time in a very long time, I was able to sleep peacefully at night knowing he was so well cared for. Lauren Johnston, the director of the Cottages, was always there to answer my questions and even took the extra step to personally check on my dad on a regular basis, which meant so much to our family. She went out of her way to make sure I felt supported and that every question I had was fully answered. The caregivers, Mary and Virginia, genuinely loved my dad, and it showed every single day through the compassion and attention they consistently gave him. My dad was protective of them because he loved them just as much as they loved him. After a brief hospital stay, when I brought him back to the Cottage, Mary and Virginia met us outside with hugs and genuine joy, telling him how happy they were to have him back as we all walked into the house. He was smiling from ear to ear! The Oakridge Cottage also has a nurse on staff, Jill, who checked on my dad frequently and maintained excellent communication with hospice whenever extra support was needed. Jill is so compassionate and patient and did so much for us! The entire team communicated openly with me and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. I cannot recommend the Oakridge Cottage enough. The cottage is always clean and smells wonderful. The caregivers prepare delicious homemade meals every day!! Our family will always be thankful for the care, comfort, and dignity they provided my dad!

This review is long overdue, but life has been extremely complicated. Months ago, we found Oakridge Cottage through CarePatrol. My mother had rapidly declined while she was a resident in independent living, which came unexpectedly. I was in a panic and did not want to choose an assisted living facility with such a short turnaround. In addition, both my mother and her husband had significant medical needs and wanted to stay together. It was a complicated situation. The Director of Unlimited Care Cottages, Lauren Johnston, was incredibly patient and caring. She took time to answer all my inquiries (phone, text, email) in a timely manner and believe me there were lots of questions. I was coordinating with numerous family members and Ms. Johnston made us feel we were the only client she had. She provided an incredible amount of assistance and education—not only helping the family make the decision to choose the cottage but helping us understand the difference and advantages of a residential facility versus the alternative assisted facility type environments. All her efforts helped us feel good about our decision. The cottage has a nurse on staff, Jill, and she was an integral piece to this puzzle—ensuring mom had comfort and the care that she deserved. Sadly, mom continued to decline and passed sooner than any of us expected. I take solace that she was in the perfect place for the last couple of months of her life. Thank you to the administrative staff and residential staff at the Oakridge Cottage. Your care and commitment are unmatched.
