Uptown Assisted Living

Ten Stars for Uptown! I am blessed to have two 90 year old parents. They each now live here and get much love and attention round the clock. In the past 18-months, we have travelled the journey from independent living to Uptown. To include two moves, multiple hospital and rehab center stays. Little about the journey is easy for my parents and the family supporting them through this. If this sounds familiar to you, my heart and prayers go out to you. We have found Uptown to be different and special in this moment of their lives. Uptown provides a smaller facility, more personal attention, and many of the comforts of a home they are used to. Beyond this, the real difference is the partnership we have formed to coordinate intake forms, understand needs, facilitate doctor visits, and keep on track with preventative care. It makes my day, getting a text from our Uptown family - sharing a picture of them doing crafts, making pizza, or playing games.

I needed a place quickly for my dad to be cared for after suddenly losing my mother. Maribel was wonderful to do everything possible to quickly accommodate my family. My dad has been here 3 months and the caretakers are fantastic with him. He would never receive this care in a larger facility. My family is so blessed to have found Uptown AL!!

My mom was very ill, mostly bed-bound and had developed dementia. She needed round the clock care and we knew a hospital-like environment would be very hard on her. Uptown provided a clean, homey, quiet facility with staff trained specially in memory and end of life care who cossetted her and were great about communicating with our family. When my mom’s medical situation became worse right before she was to transfer to Uptown, they let us move her in earlier than planned, working with their consulting doctors and hospice team to make sure my mom had everything to make her as comfortable as possible in the final weeks of her life. They supported and helped us in her last hours when we were falling apart. We’ll be forever grateful to them.

Uptown Assisted Living is a Gem! They are a small home environment with exceptional care. The residents have committed and kind care from each support staff member. They truly love our mom and do what they can every day to bring light into her life. They treat her as a part of their family. Each resident has a unique set of challenges related to their care. We see the lengths they go to so that each persons care is tailored. With a core care team the staff really know each residents needs and personality. The facility itself is bright, cheerful and always clean. Our family is very thankful to have found the team at Uptown and this lovely home.

My mother needed a safe place to recover from a serious surgery so I set out to find an assisted living facility that accepted respite care patients. I visited many facilities in Virginia and Maryland and Uptown was by far the best. The facility is clean and still feels like a home. The ladies on the staff took great care of my mother and made us all feel like family. My mother was able to recover with way better results that anyone expected and I am so thankful for the staff at Uptown for helping her get there.
