I have experienced 4 different memory care facilities and this one is by far the WORST. Do not let their quaint village like facility fool you… the biggest issue is the executive / management team. We were told/ convinced that they had knowledge and experience with my fathers specific form of dementia, however, it became clear that they only wanted to fill a bed. They broke his biPAP machine, cell phones, TV ( he was wheel chair bound and there is no way that he would have been able to knock it over himself), never cleaned his room/ made his bed (I have photos) and even went as far as emptying his half full shampoo & body wash containers and filled them with water the day before we moved him out. I know this because I was there and took inventory the day before and am one who documents everything. Speaking of documenting, I have a video of him coherently and of cognitively sound answering his questions for the Wisconsin Coalition for Collaborative Excellence in Assisted Living (WCCEAL) survey… when it comes to the questions about the staff and facility, he “strongly disagrees” with the facility. If you would like any of the photos or the video, I still have them. My mom and I also felt extremely disrespected following an incident after they sent him to the ER. They left us at the door/ parking lot on a Friday evening, to wheel him in ourselves and asking us what we were doing back as if they weren’t going to let us back in. Please do NOT choose this facility for your loved one…. We also crossed paths with a woman who had chosen this facility for her mother after we had left. She unfortunately shared very similar experiences, including instances of her mothers’ bed being saturated with urine which she realized when she sat down on it during her visit. I plan on sharing more in the near future on other platforms to expose the neglect and abuse, because things need to change.

We have just passed the first week that my brother has moved into Victorian Castle. My experience with all of the staff has been very positive. Everyone showed up to help on move-in day. I mean the Executive Director, Admissions Director, the Nursing Director and the Day Staff. I was amazed and deeply touched by the sensitivity and support they gave me through the whole process, from initial visit to move-in. Even our case manager was impressed and confident in the Castle Organization. The on-site staff has been very receptive and positive. I feel they really want to get to know Fred and have appreciated my help and support of them. This has been a difficult and sometimes heart wrenching experience for my brother and I, my brother has never lived with anyone other than family. I feel my decision to have my Brother be taken care of by all the staff at Castle Senior Living- Victorian Castle.

My Mom stayed at the Victorian Castle for 3 years. I was very pleased with the care she received. The owners are very nice and the CNA staff and house administrator were very caring and attentive to our needs. The house has a very homey feel and is set way back from the road with a wooded back yard where we saw turkeys and deer often. It has a screened in rear deck and side porch with comfy wicker furniture to sit and enjoy nature. The CNA's make home cooked meals they eat together at a large dining table. There is a living room with a large screen TV where the residents watch movies. They offer activities like crafts & bingo, ice cream social and movie nights with popcorn. I feel I made the best possible choice for my Mom to live out the last three years of her life in a safe and homey environment. Thank you to all of you at Castle for taking good care of my Mom.
