the call lights are very loud and for some reason don't get answered in a timely manner. it's a sad place.

My grandma was in the memory care/ hospice sections for about 5 months. My grandpa was here for a couple of months in the rehab section. Would give it 0 stars if I could. Mind you, Memory care was 5K+ per month and hospice was 10K per month. The memory care section, the rehab section, and the hospice section are outdated and dirty, and smell like urine. Rooms look like they haven't been cleaned properly in years. Broken doors on nightstand cabinets and wardrobes. Dirty walls, and what looks to be black pube hairs all over the ground and in between the metal parts at the bottom of patients beds. BET channel playing in the common area for patients 80+ years old. Staff left patients call buttons ringing for 30+ mins. When patients ask for help the staff ignores or takes forever to respond. My grandmother's purse went "missing", along with some personal hygiene items we had brought in for her. I took her wedding ring off so that wouldn't get stolen. I guess when you're a CNA making less than $20 an hour, you don't care about making sure things are clean or caring for your patients properly. 0/10 do not recommend.

My grandmother lived in all the facilities of the old Methodist Manor for over 30 years. I was an aide in Maplewood in the 70’s. When it came time for a Senior community, VMP met all of my needs. I’ve lived here for four years now and this is an excellent place to be yourself (introvert, unreligious, progressive ME). People don’t impose their beliefs on each other and they welcome all varieties of people. It has been the right place for me.
