I recommend Village Glen without hesitation and with great confidence. The facility has manny assets that make your loved one’s day to day living a quality experience. The facility is exceptionally clean and well maintained. There are 3 large common areas where activities, movies, community TV watching, and socializing take place. Additionally, there is a dining room that also serves meals as well as other activities. Activities include exercise/stretching, BINGO, trivia, cooking, live musical entertainment, and a host of other stimulating options. But the greatest asset is the caring staff who work tirelessly and compassionately with your loved one. Many of the staff have worked there for years which attests to a great working environment and happy and well-trained people who provide personalized care. My mother lived at The Highlands, the independent senior apartment living building (with a covered garage!), chose to move to assisted living at Arbor Village, and finally moved to Village Glen when she required the services of a memory care facility. My mom flourished under their care for a total of 17 years. I have been able to see 1st hand how well the residents are treated with respect and dignity. I cannot say enough about how pleased I have been with the care Mom received from Andy Kerwin’s facilities and wonderful team members. It was truly the very best place my mom could have spent her golden years and she lived to celebrate her 100th birthday at Village Glen.

Words alone cannot express how much we appreciate Andy and his entire staff at Village Glenn. It’s always incredibly difficult to begin the process of looking for a place for our loved ones. We had plenty of experiences that left our family weary. That is until meeting with Andy and the staff at Village Glen. We are so grateful that my mother in law was in a place where she was treated with kindness, love and respect. They go above and beyond to ensure their residents safety, health and happiness. All of the staff at Village Glenn are caring, compassionate and understanding. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the care they gave my mother in law. Communication was outstanding regarding conditions affecting the community as well as those directly related to her care. Andy goes above and beyond to ensure that communication with families is paramount. Their activity planning for the residents is excellent, with a lot of diverse opportunities for participation. I am aware that many staff have been with the facility for a long time. That says a lot, that the management retains their employees The real story is every team member that works with Andy in care, programming, food service, facility maintenance, and creating the positive caring culture at Village Glenn - they are all truly amazing people! Every interaction we had with Staff was wonderful. They are true angels who deeply care about each and every resident as if they were their own family member.

If you are reading this, chances are you are looking for help for a loved one. I have been in your shoes. Our mom has been at Village Glen for almost 2 years and I can say I have not lost 1 night of sleep worrying about her. That's how much confidence our family had from the beginning in the staff at Village Glen and that trust has remained solid. They are engaged with my mom, her surroundings are clean, she eats WELL, and when we see her, we can sense that she feels content and safe. Dementia shows up differently with each person and the staff superbly demonstrates experience and knowledge in their individualized approach to each resident. This is a privately owned facility with a dedicated and experienced staff from management to care staff to support staff. Village Glen was a unique and blessed find for our mom and made our family's difficult decision not so scary.

Our family was so blessed that our mother could become a resident at Village Glen Memory Care of Geneva Crossing! Personally, as her daughter, I have been so thrilled with all the wonderful programming and activities that Village Glen can give our mom that I could not give her as when I had her living with me I had to still try to work and therefore could not keep my mom as active and stimulated as I would have liked her to be. Village Glen provides so many opportunities for their residents to be active with exercise, games, activities, field trips, and they also provide a variety of entertainment. The staff is also so friendly and caring whenever I visit there which is often most weeks of the year. It was a thrill for me to also see my mom improve after she was living their because she could get exercise classes in as well as other activity that was stimulating for her and there were more opportunities for those stimulating activities than what our schedules and property lay out could provide. I have had other friends and relatives be a part of other residential entities but so far Village Glen has been one of my favorite out of all establishments I have seen up to date. I have even recommended Village Glen to others. It is a wonderful home filled with many loving and caring staff members who do such a terrific job caring for their residents. My aunt has been living at the Village Glen for the past several months. We could not be more pleased with the care she is receiving. Our family feels so lucky to have found this facility -- caring staff, lovely environment and incredibly responsive administrative staff. Moving a loved one to a memory care facility is never easy. However, Village Glen's staff and owner made the transition and day-to-day challenges remarkably easier than I thought possible. There is tremendous peace of mind when you can trust that your loved one is being cared for in all the ways for which you would wish.
