We have been so happy with Walnut Place. The caregivers, med techs, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, front desk, etc always go above and beyond and truly love my parents. Both of my parents have different needs and Walnut Place is able to accommodate them. Walnut Place feels like family!

My mother is 99 years old but though we care for her in her own home, there are are times when we need respite care for her. We a have brought her to Walnut Place several times and she had thoroughly enjoyed being there. She said that the nurses and staff are so attentive and take good care of her.

Walnut Place is one of our main reasons for moving to the Dallas area from California. My husband, who is the resident, was greeted very warmly, as was I, on Jan. 16, 2024. It is such a lovely, beautiful, clean building with caring, thoughtful staff members. The other residents are wonderful, and my husband is so happy to be at Walnut Place. The food is delicious and there are activities for the residents to participate in if they desire. We feel so blessed to have found Walnut Place!

I have consistently been impressed by the compassionate and dedicated staff at Walnut Place. I was referred here by Julie at Senior Living Specialist after careful consideration of my requests, fears, and budget. If you want the short answer, this is right place to care for your loved one. If you want more details you’ll find them below. ◦ Clean common areas ◦ Private rooms cleaned daily on the memory care floor ◦ Responsive ◦ Nurse on duty ◦ Cameras not only allowed but encouraged ◦ Direct line of communication with staff via cell phone ◦ Secured memory care floor ◦ Residents engaged and clean ◦ Food is freshly prepared and appetizing ◦ Caregivers are hands on and attentive ◦ Caregivers speak with gentle compassion ◦ Caregivers trained to redirect when needed ◦ No pressure no sales pitch Starting from day one one Svitlana welcomed me through the doors with love and empathy. At first I had come only to look at respite care but after meeting the staff and touring the floor I started to think this might be the right place for long term care. Upon entry I found a welcome sign with my name, a small detail that anyone could do but hadn’t. I was greeted by Svitlana’s warm smile and captivating accent. Although she’s heard years and years of similar stories you never would have known. She listened with such love and understanding. The tour was equally as impressive. The memory care floor was nice and smelled clean. This part alone was impressive. During the time of my visit the residents were dressed, clean, and ready to eat. They looked well cared for and engaged. The food actually smelled good. They were eating seared pork chops that day. This was a big plus for me as my Mom has always been a foodie. One pleasure that she can still enjoy. Svitlana knew them by name, touching their shoulder or giving them a smile. Again, genuine compassion. The caregivers on the floor were also very attentive. I was impressed by the room size and the en suite bathroom that was easily accessible for my mom. It was there I met Carlos, Director of assisted living and memory care. He too was just as engaging with the residents as Svitlana had been. I asked about having a camera in my mom’s room (some places don’t allow this and it’s a hard fast requirement for me) not only is it allowed but Carlos encouraged it! Saying something like “I love and trust my staff but I can’t be in all places at once. I want to know they’re being cared for even when I’m not here”. Instant relief on my part. I ended my tour with hugs from both of them. There was no pressure for me to sign up, no sales pitch. The next day I was sent a personalized video thanking me for my time. Just an extra step above and beyond anything I had experienced in my 6 month search to find the right place. I took a few days to think it over then invited Carlos and Svitlana drive out to my house to meet my Mom and do their assent. They brought her a small welcome gift with sugar free snacks (they had remembered she was a diabetic). After the visit they sent my mom a video walk thru of her her new home. I moved her in a week later. Since she has been there I have witnessed countless interactions of personalized care. She is checked on throughout the night and during the day if she is in her room. She is allowed freedom of choice. No one forces her to go to bed, stay in bed, or do anything she doesn’t want to do. Every interaction I’ve seen on camera has been positive. Due to the Dementia my mom is not always easy but THEY are always kind. I don’t know all the caregivers by name yet but I see their sweet faces greeting my mom with dignity and respect. Activities are offered daily. Both Carlos and Svitlana have checked in on me and given me updates on my mom when I’ve been unable to check on her myself. I was able to go on vacation with full faith and confidence that my mom would be cared for while I was away. If you’ve been looking, I know your struggle, I feel your pain. This is the place you’ve been looking for, this is your respite.

Walnut Place Senior Living was extraordinary from the first visit, and has continued to be extraordinary even as of today. It all started with the warm and heartfelt joy in receiving our exploratory visit back in May of this year. KaTrece Lee, Director of Admissions was so professional complemented by her genuinely kind and helpful persona. She was highly instrumental in making Walnut Place our choice. When we finally checked in, she even sent her Facilities Manager, Charles (?) to help us set the room and TV for us. Now that we have been here for almost four months, the nursing and care staff have proven to be extraordinarily caring, responsive and even patient with us. Thank You Walnut Place staff for all you do! (LRT & his aid.)
