Please do not bring your loved ones here! My grandfather just passed away here after having many arm injuries and a gash to the head that all the nurses have no explanation as to how it happened. I have not experienced worse management, Susan, not following POA (power of attorney), and keeping information from rightful members of our family. We have no idea what medications they gave him and he was extremely sedated constantly looking like a zombie. I have no doubt my grandfather died because of elderly abuse and neglect! There is no one supervising the visitors that come in and they are constantly left unattended in groups watching looping goldfish screens. You pay $7,000 a month to also bring your own soap, clothes, and any toiletries! Please, please, please, I cannot stress it enough, find anywhere else but here!

The staff at wellsprings are very sweet people and caring to the folks that live there. Whenever I visit, the air smells clean and the atmosphere is cozy. When the time comes I'd like for my parents to live here throughout their golden years, I know they'll be happy.

On May 22, 2018, I moved my 90-year-old mother from Brookdale/ Wekiwa Springs (another assisted living facility in Apopka, Florida) to Wellsprings Residence after both myself and my mother visited Wellsprings earlier in the month. I was pleasantly surprised and amazed at the lengths to provide great care that this smaller (19 bed) facility takes that larger facilities definitely do not. This includes: cameras everywhere inside and outside the facility; one-on-one care for your loved one; healthy food with many choices; caring and experienced staff (even including their employee who performs all maintenance both inside and outside); nice-sized rooms with good-sized closets and efficient bathroom size including a nice, large area for assisted showering; very well-maintained and beautiful grounds for your loved one to navigate as they enjoy the peaceful setting on this 14-acre facility; quiet and peaceful daily living on and around their main floor that sees most of the resident and visitor traffic; residents who enjoy a variety of lifestyles such as independent living, assisted living and residents in wheelchairs that need a little more assistance; community/TV room where the residents can gather if they want to; a separate Family Room that includes a television and living room type furniture in case visitors have small children and the family visitors wish to use this room for a more private, roomy visit and so as not to disturb the other residents if small children get a little loud; and the owner/executive director and administrative staff are highly educated, soooooo helpful, and very, very patient when posed with any problem from residents who may have difficulty making the transition from one facility to another, as my mother did. The entire staff and the other residents (the residents here are very concerned and watch out for each other) worked very hard on a daily basis to help my mother make the transition since elderly loved ones with dementia can experience a longer adjustment period when their environment changes significantly. I appreciate all of the dedication, professionalism, assistance, patience, advice, etc. that the entire staff and owners of the facility showed my mother as to this change in her life. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough and wish I could give them a 10-star rating! Please, please visit Wellsprings Residence FIRST when seeking to place or move your loved one to assisted living. I understand that they also provide short-term respite or hospice care, so this is also a wonderful place to make your terminal loved one's last time before passing peaceful and caring. Also, the staff and owner work with resident's families constantly to make sure the resident is always getting what he/she needs and wants. They also provide educated recommendations when care may need to change, etc. so that you can always go to the staff and owner to get great advice! In my experience, you should avoid the large, corporate-owned facilities if possible because they only care about their bottom line, hence, they understaff their facilities and usually have a revolving door of changes in administrative positions as well. Not at Wellsprings Residence -- they have staff that have been here a long time who care so much for your loved one and are all highly qualified to provide the utmost care! Make Wellsprings Residence your FIRST and LAST stop while you shop around for assisted living care for your loved one.
