It was a very tough decision for my family to move my mom out of her home. We shopped around many facilities and when we told the lady at Aegis Living in Aptos what we were looking for, she said, “Oh, you don’t want an active senior community like this, you want a Board and Care home. You should try Wesley House, they’re the best in the county.” I’ll be forever grateful for that referral. The caring and professional staff at Wesley House cared for our mom through all her trials up until last year when she passed peacefully at age 100. I don’t know what we as a family would have done without them. As we dealt with our own problems, we never once doubted that our mom was safe, fed and cared for. We knew she was. She was extremely vocal about it. While she would have preferred to stay at home, she knew we couldn’t manage her care and she often said that if she had to be anywhere, she was happy in her pretty room at Wesley and grateful for the care she received. She grew quite fond of the staff, who were ceaselessly patient and loving despite our mom’s sometimes challenging behavior. Owner, Janet Leon, is a seasoned professional who was able to make on the spot decisions or recommendations that saved my mom and our family untold grief and problems. She helped us navigate the difficult terrain through end of life and we will be forever grateful to her, as well as the Wesley House staff including our beloved Hilda, Horte, Rosa, et al, and Janet’s family who all pitched in on the operation. I don’t know how to give a better reference except maybe to say the grounds are pretty and the sun room provided my mom with endless hours of quiet warmth, which she craved. The meals are varied and home-cooked. The tone of the facility is upbeat with familiar routines and festive décor for holidays. The fact that it’s an open facility inspired our confidence, we could show up anytime and our mom was always presentable and secure. As far as I’m concerned, these people are saints and I hope they’re blessed in turn for their good works.

I am now so grateful to have found Dr. Kong! For a long time, I was really struggling with frequent urges to urinate. I had seen two other urologists before Dr. Kong, but it wasn't until I met him several months ago. Dr. Kong was incredibly thorough and took the time to ask detailed questions to really understand what I was going through. Thanks to his care and expertise, I no longer have to worry about embarrassing accidents. It has made a huge positive impact. Thank you very much Dr. KONG.

My father-in-law recently passed away after 15 wonderful months at Wesley House. At first he wasn't happy to there, but in a couple of weeks the staff there made him so much at ease that it was "Home" from then on, so much so, that after our latest Thanksgiving dinner together he wanted to go home as soon as the meal was over. I will say that this is not the right place for active seniors, but if you are looking for a place that is caring, clean, thoughtful and helpful, it would be hard to improve on the care there.

My brother has been a resident at Wesley House III for a number of years, and overall we are very pleased with the quality of his care. While there has been considerable turnover in the staff over that period of time, the family that runs the facility has proven time and time again to be dedicated to the well-being of my brother, and from what I've seen, to all the residents. That dedication is reflected in their training of new staff, keeping the facility clean, the preparation of daily meals from scratch, and attention to detail in their tending of the beautiful grounds. Caring for the elderly and those with disabilities is very difficult and emotionally draining work. In my experience, the team at Wesley House II and III does it with a seemingly endless reserve of patience and grace.

Horrible place. One very sweet elderly woman that lives here actually asked me if she was living in a nightmare. The caregivers here show little concern for their feelings. The people that reside at this nursing home are forced to go to sleep around 6 pm, and then woken up again around 6 am. They don't care if they're in the middle of watching a tv show or having a conversation. The care givers will just grab them, force them up and make them get in bed. They're very forceful with them and seem to have little regard for their well being. They seem to view them as nothing more than a burden. I've even witnessed them leave the soap on an elderly woman after wiping her clean and they didn't seem to care that that might make her itchy. Really would not recommend this place for your loved ones. Everyone here seems incredibly depressed.
