Mom has been with the Harbour for over a year now, a tough and draining decision that I had to make as her daughter, yet the experience was so positive. Overwhelmingly welcomed by all the staff, helping us settle her in, offering direction without hesitation. Mom quickly acclimated into a new routine. So many daily offered activities, and the staff walks around to help remind all these sweet little people. Granted no place is like home, but Westchester Harbour AL offers elders a place of safety, care, and genuine love. Thank you ALL!

3 years ago, my father had a fall and was forced to move into skilled Nursing at Westchester Manor. He had wonderful care until he died 14 months later. When my mother was faced with serious issues and needed assisted living, we did not hesitate to choose Westchester Harbour. She is currently in Memory Care but receiving the best possible care. The staff is responsive caring and I now don't worry about my mother everyday. My brother and I have the peace of mind that she is in the best place for her.

Our mother is in memory care at WH. We are so glad that we found this place for her. The staff and people are wonderful and the facility itself is top notch. Also Nikki does an amazing job with activities and is so kind. Thank you!

Terrible place. I would never again put a parent or loved one here. The director Donna and the memory care director Kim have the worse bedside manner I have ever experienced. They are both rude, unsympathetic and unprofessional. We practically have to beg someone to give her a shower and brush her teeth. The food isnt fit for animals and little though is put into the fact that older people have difficulty chewing. The activities director Nicci is great and goes beyond her job. Tamara is a good nurses aid. They have overdosed my mom, hospital dumped her and told us in order for her to return we had to hire a full time sitter even though we self pay the 9k per month! The only other alternative we were given was to add another sedative which left her wheelchair bound and incapacitated for the rest of her time on earth! Horrible place.

The facility itself is very nice. During my tour it was very clean and the residents looked well. The one star rating for my review has to do with the lack of communication. My husband was diagnosed with Frontal lobe dementia last June. He is only 58 years old and has progressed rapidly. His doctor informed me that he needs to be placed in a memory care facility. I visited an Elder law firm who recommended Westchester Harbor as they were one of the facilities that accepted special assistance Medicaid. After my appointment with the lawyer I contacted the admissions office at Westchester Harbor and was told to fill out an application and that my husband would be put on the waiting list. I turned in the application on May 3 and was told that someone would contact me with an update. However, that never happened. I called after three weeks to check the status of the application and was told the woman who I initially spoke with was no longer employed. In addition, I was also informed that my husband’s application had been denied because of his age. Their policy is 65 years or older. From the beginning I was transparent about my husband’s age. Three weeks of my time has been lost when I could have been looking into other facilities for available beds. The lady I spoke with, Wendy, apologized but it seemed insincere. If they truly cared, someone should have reached out and informed me of the denial. I cannot help but think this is more about money than age. So, if you like lack of communication or respect for time this is the place for you.
