We moved my parents into Westminister of Decatur and it was in my Dad's words " the best decision we have ever made". Both mom and dad were met by a loving team of administrators, caregivers and others who go the extra mile to make sure their residents are well cared for and loved. They have established a community with the other residents that allow them to be social and find friendship with one another. The events are well planned and appropriate for the seniors living there. The food is amazing and has my parents looking forward to each meal in the dinning room. I thank God for the wonderful new home and the caring environment that my parents are experiencing.

I truly cannot say enough about Westminster and the remarkable souls who fill its halls with care, grace, and quiet compassion. This oasis in Decatur is more than a facility—it’s a sanctuary of love and dignity. The people who work and lead here are extraordinary, and though I could name 15 staff members who touched our lives, I know I’d still leave someone out. The care my mother received felt personal, as if she were part of their own family. Every nurse, aide, and team member who walked into her room did so with kindness in their hearts and a gentleness that never felt routine. The space itself is beautiful—like a serene resort—meticulously maintained, peaceful, and filled with light. When my mom’s needs grew beyond what Westminster could provide, they didn’t simply let us go. They helped guide me with grace to the next chapter in her care. They called in the days after we left, checking in, making sure I felt supported and that Mom was safe and settled. That kind of follow-through, that kind of humanity, is rare. This is truly a place for mom—not just in name, but in spirit. Jennifer, Bret, Bonita, Beth, Breen, Kim, Lori, the dining staff… each of you gave something real and lasting. You touched my heart with your sincerity, your empathy, and your presence. Bravo to all of you. You are doing something beautiful in this world and I am eternally grateful.

Westminster was an answer to our prayers. From the moment we interviewed, we knew this environment would be perfect. My daddy has been a memory care resident since February of 2025. The staff is so good with him and very supportive of the family. They understand the needs and requirements of memory residents, and do their best to meet them. I’m not sure what we would have done without this group of caregivers! Love them!

Westminster of Decatur is a God send for sure! My Momma has been living there for a month in the Memory Care Program and has loved every day! They are more than a facility they are our family! The ladies that work there are genuine people who care about our loved ones and make sure to put a smile on my Mommas face everyday! The grounds and the facility are immaculate inside and out! The meals are balanced and nutritious! They do activities in the morning and the afternoon plus have snacks 3 times a day. Momma has a fridge in her room where we keep her supplied with protein drinks, yogurts, bottled water and much more! We call it her apartment instead of room. I believe she likes it being her place! A big “THANK YOU! To all the Ladies that help take care of Momma! We are truly BLESSED to be a part of the Westminster Family of Decatur, AL!

Everyone’s journey with memory care for their loved one is different. We chose Westminster without the luxury of having a long time to research and do tours. Thanks be to God for guiding our decision here. I can name MANY caregivers at Westminster who have provided kind, compassionate care to our mom. Over the last couple of years, I’ve watched and learned so much about what this team gives to the residents in caring for them 24/7. They deserve abundant grace if something doesn’t go right, because I truly believe working with memory care residents is surely a calling. Thank you all - what you do matters more than you know!
