My husband and I moved into the independent living section of Windsor Meade in January 2025. We were aware of the other care centers ( assisted living, memory and skilled nursing/ rehab. ) but never visited them to learn more about their service offerings. Quite frankly it was not on our radar screen.. All that changed two weeks ago when my husband came down with flu A which attacked his lungs and he was transported to the hospital with a severe case of pneumonia. Because of the explosion of flu cases overwhelming the hospital he spent four days in the pediatric ward. As his illness stabilized our physician recommended he be transferred to the skilled nursing/ rehab facility at Windsor Meade called the Hadley House. When we arrived we were met by staff members and escorted to his room. Shortly after a registered nurse came in to take his vitals and go over his medications. The room was spotless and other staff members checked to make sure he was comfortable and brought water. They pointed out that Hadley house had its own dining venue and cook but because he was recovering from the flu his meals would be brought to him. A menu was provided for the remaining meals of the day and gave him a variety of options. He spent 6 days at Hadley house and raved over the attention and 24 hour care he received from the well trained staff. The experience reaffirmed that our decision to move into Windsor Meade was the right choice.

My wife and I have lived in WindsorMeade for about 8 and a half years, moving here directly from Vienna, Virginia, In part, to live in Williamsburg, but once here, we now know we made the best move possible. The people here are very friendly, and the range of activities truly remarkable, with lectures, concerts, and many different types of fellowship events! We use the fitness center and pool, the pickleball courts, and play in various bridge games, plus even more activities. There are 2 dining rooms, the casual Bistro and the more formal Marigolds Room, both with a wide variety of delicious food. We live in our own house with its 2-car attached garage, and with spacious rooms, including 3 bed rooms and 2 and a half baths. We are not ready yet, but it is encouraging to know that there is also our Bedford Terrace, with its three separate units, assisted living, health care, and memory support.

My entire care team at the WinsorMeade Rehabilition Center performed above-and-beyond what was expected. The facility was also superb -- the room was comfortable and kept spotless, and the common areas were pleasant and inviting. The medical doctor who oversaw my care was very knowledgeable and, even when he was out of the facility, he was very responsive to the nurses when I had questions for him. The physical therapists were terrific, and they helped me make rapid progress towards meeting my recovering goals. Overall, I feel quite fortunate to have been there for my rehabilitation.

We are very happy with our decision to move to Windsor Meade almost four years ago. We live in an apartment in the main building (Windsor Hall) with dining options, activities for every interest, and many friendly, social, creative residents residing here and in the villas on our beautiful campus. We have access to whatever level of care we may need now or in the future. The staff is outstanding, knows everyone's name, and work with a smile. We're in a great location near VA route 199, New Town and smaller shopping areas. We like the small size of about 300 residents for the personnel touch that makes Windsor Meade a special place to live.

My wife and I have been residents at Windsor Meade for a little over a year. It was a big decision for us to leave our house and move into an apartment. While I am still quite active, my wife has some mobility issues that make apartment living much easier for her. At Windsor Meade we found an environment that addresses both of our needs. I make full use of the many activities and events, while she has the security of knowing, if she needs it while I am not there, help is near by. We found a great home with wonderful facilities, numerous activities, a caring and attentive staff, and great friends and neighbors.
