WINGATE RESIDENCES ON BLACKSTONE BOULEVARD

After a fall and rehab, our mom wasn’t ready to go home—but thankfully, Wingate-Blackstone offered short-term Respite Care. Within weeks, mom felt at home, enjoying the meals, activities, and friendly community. The cozy environment, excellent nursing staff, and helpful team made all the difference. Mom wanted to transition from Respite care to an Assisted Living resident at Wingate-Blackstone. To be sure this is what mom wanted we toured other facilities with mom, but none matched Wingate-Blackstone’s warmth and flexibility. From respite care to her own apartment, the transition was smooth thanks to the supportive staff. We’re incredibly grateful—Wingate-Blackstone truly became home for our mom.

My parents are residents at Wingate at Blackstone. I cannot say enough about the staff. Valerie, the Executive Director, leads by example with caring, compassion and wisdom. Her team follows suit. The facility is clean and well run and has been very good for my parents.

My mom is a resident in the neighborhood at Wingate, and I know that working with dementia/Alzheimer’s residents takes a lot of patience. Each member of the staff in there not only shows patience, but kindness and caring. That is something truly special about this facility. On top of that Pam, has created such a wonderful environment for each resident. It amazes me everytime I come in there how much is actually going on. Many facilities advertise that they do activities daily with the dementia/Alzheimers residents but many facilities I’ve visited kept the lights low, and have the residents in front of a tv watching movies rather than engaging them in activities. I came in the other day to visit with my mother, and they had a kennel club group visiting with their dogs and the residents were all enjoying it immensely. It goes without saying that Wingate actually follows through and has activities continuously through out the day as well as staff checking on all the residents that are not participating. It brings me to tears when I think of how blessed my mom is to be in a place that truly loves and cares for their residents.

Home is where our people are. Our dad has lived at Wingate on Blackstone for almost one year now. It was a big deal for him to agree to move from living with home care in his condo into assisted living. And my sister and I are beyond grateful that we found Wingate. Of course, the facilities are wonderful. Dad has found friends, good friends among the other residents. AND. The staff and leaders/administrators are professional, knowledgeable, kind and, most importantly, loving. Wonderful people who keep it all going...front desk, dining services, facilities, activities, CNAs, nursing, cleaning and laundry, the director and her crew, and on and on and on. The team demonstrates a deep ethic of care in everything they do. We can see and feel how much they truly appreciate our beloved father, and we as a family appreciate them, each and all. They are our people. And our dad is home. Thank you thank you thank you to the Wingate staff.

This is a wonderful place with caring, helpful staff! I highly recommend checking into this facility if you are caring for your loved one. The facility is clean and nicely done. The staff is so warm and friendly. I went to check this place as a place I could temporarily have my husband stay for a couple of weeks while I went on a vacation. Valerie introduced herself treated my as though I was a family member she wanted to help. She paid attention to my needs. She contacted another agency on my behalf as I was meeting with her. She went out of her way to be of help to me, even if I did not choose their facility. This is certainly a place I would feel confident my husband would receive top notch care! Thank you to Wingate!!
