My stepmom was here for 5 years in Assisted Living then Memory Care. They are fantastic!! The staff is wonderful, food is great, very clean and lots of fun activities. When she neared end of life, they, along with Anchors of Hope Hospice, were so loving to her!

I am writing this review out of deep concern for the conditions at Woodland Terrace of Carmel where a family member and her husband currently reside. Their experience has been nothing short of appalling, and I feel compelled to warn others who might be considering this facility for their loved ones. First, the pricing is outrageously high, and meals aren’t even included. For what they are charging, you would expect a higher standard of service, but instead, the staff treats residents rudely and disrespectfully. To make matters worse, personal belongings, including clothing, have gone missing, raising serious concerns about theft. The staff has access to their apartment, 24 hours a day. Mind you, This is for the assisted living section not the memory care. The meals provided are another issue entirely. Portions are extremely small, lacking sufficient protein and nutrients—basic necessities for maintaining health. Residents are not allowed to ask for seconds, leaving many hungry and dissatisfied. It’s unacceptable to treat people this way, especially when they are paying a premium for care. The recent snowstorm highlighted the facility’s complete lack of preparation. They had no food, leaving residents stranded without proper nourishment during a time when they needed care and comfort the most. This kind of negligence is absolutely unforgivable. If you are considering placing a loved one in Woodland trace of Carmel, I urge you to reconsider. This facility has shown a blatant disregard for the well-being, dignity, and comfort of its residents. For the sake of your family, run the other way and explore other options.

As someone who has spent over six months caring for my client in the memory care unit of Woodland Terrace, I’ve gained a rare, behind-the-scenes perspective on what makes this place exceptional. The resident-to-aide ratio ensures that each individual receives the attention they need, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the close health monitoring provided. Safety and security measures are tin place—from secure entry systems and remote monitoring cameras to attentive, 24/7 supervision. Residents are always well-protected, and the aides’ vigilance, coupled with impressively quick incident response times, adds another layer of reassurance. Mealtimes are a highlight. Residents enjoy a variety of nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to their dietary needs. The facility offers engaging activities like indoor games, music performances, and exercise classes, as well as outdoor outings during warmer months. For anyone seeking a nurturing, secure, and vibrant home for a loved one, I couldn’t recommend Woodland Terrace more.

Woodland Terrace of Carmel has been my home since 2019. I live in an independent apartment with access to daily exercise classes, group outings, medical transportation, various clubs, art and music groups, religious services, a variety of entertainment, and ample indoor and outdoor spaces for impromptu conversations with interesting people from many backgrounds. Meals are available all day at scheduled times, and in between, among three dining venues. Woodland Terrace is a quality place to live, located across an intersection from a hospital, near major highway intersections, between Carmel and Westfield.

Woodland Terrace of Carmel Community is an exceptional place to call home in your golden years. This community is designed with the needs and comfort of seniors in mind, and it truly shows in every aspect of my tour. My experience began with a friendly greeting when I stepped through the door. The community is beautifully constructed and aesthetically pleasing. Spacious and beautifully decorated apartments and offers many amenities, fully equipped kitchens, walk-in closets, and plenty of natural light. Other areas that stood out to me at Woodland Terrace was a fitness center, library, and beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces that looks nice to relax and enjoy the fresh air. The activity calendar also had plenty of opportunities for socializing and staying active, with a variety of daily activities and events that cater to all interests and abilities. Overall, I would highly recommend Woodland Terrace retirement community to anyone looking for a welcoming and supportive environment to call home for their loved one or themselves in their retirement years. The community truly goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel comfortable, happy, and fulfilled, and it is clear that the staff genuinely cares about the well-being of everyone who lives there.
