York Place

My mother has been at York Place for nearly 4 years; I cannot thank the management and staff enough for their care. Mom gets individualized attention and rarely does someone have to wait for care as in many other similar places. The facility is clean and cheerful with decorations for every season that truly lift the spirit of everyone. Even though Covid has presented unique challenges, residents have been treated to a variety of activities and special events. There is a beautiful courtyard filled with flowers during the summer and twinkling lights in the winter. The facility is locked with a code; so it's completely safe for those who might wander, although anyone may go into the courtyard at any time, which all the rooms are built around. This place has truly been an answer to prayer for my family and most of all, my mom.

Before my mother went to stay at the York Place, my daughter and I was bringing in her belongs, and my daughter noticed that the room was clearly not cleaned, as I was informed that it had been, the microwave had food in it, the drawers had food in them, there was fungus of some sort around the bathroom sink, the carpet had something on them that looked like and felt like candle wax, and the air conditioner front was very dirty, my daughter took the front off and there was black mold inside of it. A couple weeks later I went to visit my mother, and was cleaning up the sink in the kitchen, and noticed that the bottom drawer under the sink was closed, I tried to close it, and it had resistance, I pulled the drawer completely out and found 8 packs of medicene from previous patients, one as far back as October 2001, and a different patient , April through October of 2017, what would of happened if my mother would of found this, thinking that it was her medicene?
