Sharon Dawson, Director of Resident Care, goes above and beyond for the residents at Stonebridge. My sister was having an issue with her physician refilling a prescription and Sharon was on top of making sure the doctor did what she was supposed to do. The care in the facility is executive!

My Mom is a current resident at Yorkshire Manor. She was forced to move from another assisted living in September of 2024 when they quit providing care on site. After some initial staffing issues (when the building reopened after updates/repairs), our experience has been mostly wonderful. Administrator Jennifer, Activities Director Jeff, care staff Jasmine, Sam, and Seth (to name a few) have worked consistently with us to make my Mom's remaining days as pleasant and comfortable as possible. They interact daily with the residents AND their families. I always feel like someone is available to address our concerns and to reach out proactively when my Mom's needs have changed. This is the 3rd assisted living my Mom has lived at. I feel comfortable knowing she is being treated kindly and is in a warm, caring environment.

Yorkshire & Stonebridge Manor was my mother's home for the last five years of her life. The staff many times tended to her needs, livened her with joy and laughter, and provided her with meals when mealtime had come and gone. She enjoyed being near the water ponds with the swans and ducks. Thank you for helping her in her frailty.

My mom was there for many years, until the Lord took her home; the staff/caregivers were very attentive and genuinely cared about my Mom...and she had close relationships with some! My Mom also enjoyed the pond with a fountain and the many kinds of waterfowl….

My 95 year old father was in Yorkshire for 3 months after he left a skilled nursing home. The staff at this facility are very nice people and were very helpful each time I asked them to do something for father or I. My father liked the staff and especially liked the food that they served. Over the period of 3 months he must of told me how good the food was 10 times. My dad could not get around well and needed a walker, and the facility loaned him one that they had in their garage. They keep the residents busy with bingo 3 days per week and have musicians come in from time to time to entertain the residents. One of the things that both my mother and I liked about Yorkshire was that it had a "homey" feeling. It did not feel like an institution and I think that helped my dad feel comfortable there. Also you should be aware that Yorkshire/Stonebridge is a non-profit facility. I think that is a big plus in their favor as their decisions are not based on the bottom line. I subtracted one star for the medical people. Be aware the medical people are NOT included with the monthly room and care charge. My mother can longer drive and since I live 1,500 miles from Grand Rapids we felt we would go with the medical staff that Yorkshire used. I did not feel that the medical people kept the family very well informed regarding my fathers very complicated condition. In fact one time when one of the medical staff was leaving the facility my mother stopped the lady to ask some questions about my father and about a week later she received a bill for $300. All in all, if you have a loved one that needs assisted living I would recommend you give Yorkshire/Stonebridge a close look. I am happy that my dad's stay was as pleasant as possible before he left the world.
