I would like to take this time to fully recommend K & W Care Home. My aunt became a resident in October 2017 and it has been a blessing. Owners/Operators Wanda and Kirk, with years of experience in the medical industry, are always on top of everything while always keeping me informed of any changes. Communication, cleanliness and security are definite priorities. They are consistently going on group outings to keep residents entertained and active. You can definitely send your loved one here with total peace of mind.

I'd been searching for the perfect community for my dad when the doctors and I agreed I could no longer care for him myself adequately and I was lead to K & W Care Homes by CarePatrol. Wanda and Kurt Tucker have been a God send!!! They truly care about their residents. They are able to provide the care I was unable to within a home like setting and also enable their residents to keep their dignity. Wanda has and is still going above and beyond her job duties in trying to assist me in getting my dad settled. Aside from my dad just being confused due to his illness and a bit upset just because of the circumstances he has adjusted nicely and is bonding with the Tuckers and the other residents. Thank you K & W Care Homes for being what I needed when i needed you!!!

After a depressing day of looking at personal care “homes” for my mother, who has dementia, K&W was a breath of fresh air. The facility was so light-filled and clean—an intimate space—and the owners, Wanda and Kirk Tucker, seemed professional but caring. My hunch about them was correct. My mother was a daycare resident and significantly older than everyone else, but the other residents and staff warmly welcomed her and made her feel at home right away. She's 97, so it was important to me that she could nap during the day. She her own bed at K&W. She loved Wanda's cooking and on our last visit to the doctor she had posted an additional 10 pounds on her 95-lb. frame. He was so impressed, as we'd been trying to improve her weight for several years. The residents had lots of fun activities together such as visiting their favorite coffee shop weekly and the Tucker Homecoming parade. Kirk and Wanda try very hard to make K&W a special and homelike place for their residents—and it is.

In my year as a resident at K & W Care Homes I have found the owners, Kirk and Wanda Tucker, to possess the unusual mix of being both warm hearted and professional. Within a month I felt I had found my home. I love Wanda's skill in the kitchen. Tuckers go beyond the regulatory requirements of a personal care home as they look for ways to support the unique, individual needs of each resident–be they social, spiritual, medical, etc.

K&W was the worst two days that I've ever spent in any place. I was in physical distress and under the influence of Xanax on the day that I arrived, but I was made to hop in a car with the other two residents because one of them was being driven to spend the week-end with a friend. When we returned to the house and still unable to lie down, I was given a set of papers to sign. Unfortunately, signing those papers cost me $620.00 for the two days I stayed. The owners are so money-driven that she made no exceptions for my short stay. The meals were sparse and without dietary restrictions. Sausage patties and chili dogs are not part of my low sodium diet. Sunday morning's breakfast was a bowl of cold cereal, a dry piece of toast, and a small tangerine. As far as I could determine, the menus posted on the refrigerator for display may not have matched what was actually served to the residents. The caretaker made a mistake in dispensing my medication and failed to engage in sanitary practices when dispensing the meds. She also apparently misrepresented the owner when she knocked on my door at 9:30 p.m. and told me that the owner had just texted her to say that the use of all electrical devices are prohibited after 9:00 p.m., something that the owner denied. The caretaker never responded to how the owner knew I was on the phone. Even my room was sparse and uninviting...one single bed, a chair, side table, and dresser. This "home" is not a home.
