ARBOR HOUSE REMINISCE

The administrator here was running the facility without proper licensing to be even employed as one for some time. In nursing, sometimes the director of nursing can make hurt your way of life for their own lack of actions already brought to their attention

I’m writing this review in response to the one from Joseph Lopez. I will also write a general (positive) review, but would like to provide some clarity as the loved one of the resident referred to in Mr. Lopez’s review. Unfortunately, there was a real resident involved in the situation described, and he was the father of five children for whom he was their world. I’m one of his children and witnessed behavior involving the person whom wrote this review while spending time with him that made me deeply uncomfortable, and arrived to see him one Saturday morning after this situation had occurred. I felt that my father had been exploited and mistreated and raised it and could not have asked for a more supportive experience from both the other aids responsible for his care as well as the management of arbor house. While we wish the incident hadn’t occurred, we (including my father) were given exactly the attention and care that we hoped for and felt confident in our decision because of how quickly and thoroughly the incident was managed. There will be incidents wherever you put your loved ones and the best any family member can hope for is swift and compassionate action. We got just that. My father has since passed, but we are forever grateful for his time at Arbor House. To anyone writing reviews that point out specific incidents, please remember these are real people that are loved by other real people - real people that are trusting facilities like Arbor House with the care and livelihood of our loved ones. Thank you, Arbor House, for handling it with expediency and professionalism.

It was such a pleasure to work with Cara and the team at Arbor House of Norman reminisce. They were not only professional and accommodating, but very sympathetic and caring with my situation as well as with myclient's situation. Cara took the time to get to know my client and her father and made them feel extremely comfortable. I look forward to working with this community in the future.

When my grandmother passed, I went up there to view the body before it was taken away. I was told to call and ask for the new codes since they had been changed overnight. I called and was put on hold for 20 mins. When I showed up, the staff said they didn't know why the phone wasn't answered. They put me on the phone with a manager named Tilly and she told me to contact my grandmother's power of attorney for the code after I told them I had already followed instructions and done that. Then she said that my grandmother was not even there anymore. So it did not make sense for her to keep trying to argue with me and tell me what I should have done when she did not listen to what I said. When I left, the little blonde girl with her nose piercings that was working there, was scoffing and telling her that I wasn't listening. I told them to answer the phones and not make someone wait over 20mins on hold. And I told that blonde girl that her behavior was unprofessional too while she's rolling her eyes. And no one offered any condolences about my grandmother that had just passed in their care. Very inconsiderate staff and I don't understand the misinformation, rudeness or unprofessionalism.

A shared bathroom for an “apartment” costing over $6,000 a month is not good. This is especially concerning for people with dementia issues. The staff is outstanding, but the thought, or lack thereof, that went into sharing bathrooms escapes me.
