My wife was in failing health and was being released from a rehab center. I had another Assisted Living facility lined up to take her but they backed out 2 days before she was to be released. I had to scramble to find another place. I fortunately found Ashton Senior Living in Gainesville. They were super supportive and made everything easier for both of us. My wife was high maintenance with her frail condition, and the staff took care of her like family. I will be forever grateful for the kindness of the staff during my wife's stay there. It wasn't cheap but the service we received, and the comfort provided to my wife was priceless.

A place you can trust with your loved one. Attentive and loving staff. Everyone is family.

Food was horrible (hot dogs and sandwiches), staff were rude, management did not care. Moved to another facility and so much happier and actually cheaper, especially after having the rent increase by $700 over a year for a shared room.

My mom was a resident of The Ashton for three months before passing away. During those three months, she received excellent care from the staff members working on the second floor. Even though she was under hospice care, everyone on staff went out of their way to make sure her needs were met. While they were very efficient in their jobs, they were also very affectionate and caring. I wish I could mention everyone by name. However, won’t attempt doing so fearing I might overlook someone else. I have no complaints about The Ashton or the concern shown to my mom.

When I first moved my Mom here in August of 2018, it was so impressive. The food was out of this world. The staff was attentive, helpful and kind. Within a couple of months, the cooking staff abruptly quit and the residents were fed delivered pizza for lunch and dinner for more than a week because supposedly the staff was unable to get a food order in any faster, even though a grocery store is a block away. Fast forward to March of 2019, an owner and nurse were arrested for narcotics theft. The place went downhill quickly from that point. Mom never knew if they were going to actually show up to shower her, laundry was hit and miss, the food was so bad that I kept her supplied with meals she could eat in her room. At one point she went a week between showers because no one would come to help her. Thankfully the new Assisted Living facility opened in Dahlonega and I was able to move her there. She is so much happier and the care far exceeds what she was receiving at Ashton. On a side note, for as open as the facility is, the smell of urine is overpowering when you first walk in the doors. I also personally heard a staff member verbally berating a resident on the second floor, her voice so loud that it echoed through the entry.
