My mom was at the Village at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst in early 2026 for combined nursing/hospice care. There was only one person whom I do not recommend -- do not allow Nurse Pam near your loved one. She is cold, callous, rude, and physically rough with patients. We were stunned by her careless handling of my mom and by her cruel, inappropriate, smart aleck remarks to us. Tell the staff that you will not work with Pam. All of the other nurses and CNAs who tended to her were kind, empathetic, warm, and caring to my mom and to us. They treated her (and us) gently and sweetly. My husband and/or I were there in the room with my mom approximately 16 to 18 hours each day, so we were able to observe them a lot. I didn't worry at all when they were caring for her. Her room was clean, and it was easy to control the temperature, so we were always comfortable. Nurse Victoria even sang to my mom, and the various nurses and CNAs shared photos of their dogs with us. After my mom passed away, they lined the hallways, standing quietly in respect as we passed by on our way out of the building. Their genuine compassion was touching and outstanding. Their care helped us try to get through a heartbreaking time, and I thank them for it.

My husband was a patient of Victory Lakes after his heart surgery. We are so appreciative of all the staff there. Their attentiveness and patience towards my husband was a relief after so many weeks of health uncertainty. The therapy team were great, very informative. The nurses and aids were all very helpful and kind. I would easily recommend Victory Lakes to anyone. A special thanks to Dom, Nadia, Leslie, Chris, Tim, Joe and Anicia.

Care was definitely a experience. Once you are discharged forget about reaching the billing department. I was told I stayed 10 days past what Medicare would pay. My paperwork says 3 days. I have repeatabley called and nobody calls back. AND then they charge me a $250 late fee!! Definitely over the top with this. If someone would call me back maybe we can get it straightened out.

Our mom lives in the independent living, a community of amazing residents, caring staff, excellent food and a property that connects to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation. As a Catholic based community, daily Mass is offered as well as Protestant services on a schedule. Meals are nutritious and delicious in the dining room. M-F the Country Store is a great place to stop in for a breakfast sandwich, salads to go, a rotating menu of soups and more plus is a place to gather and chat around tables. On site care giving provides assistance as needed and the nurse is well connected to knowing the residents of the community. Activities are plentiful with frequent entertainment brought in as well as exercise class, movies in their theater, bingo, painting, bocce ball and much more. Knowing our mom is safe, looked after and in a social group is wonderful and Victory Lakes checks all of the boxes.

My in-laws moved into a Victory Lakes independent living apartment in 1/2019 and our family has had great experiences with the compassionate staff and beautiful facility since. Following my father-in-law's passing in 2022, my mother-in-law transitioned to the intimate setting of memory care and also experienced the high quality of care in the rehab center. Mom passed last month and as we close this chapter in our lives, it's time to recognize the value that Victory Lakes provided. Over the passed 5 years we were impressed with the consistent attention to the dignity of the individual. Mom and dad never felt that Victory Lakes was a "facility", on the contrary, they felt like family at every level of care. We found the staff willing and available to craft a smooth transition for every change in care. I understand that it is notoriously difficult to staff a care center, however, I found that with open and frequent communication, we were able to address mom and dad's changing needs. Our family remains grateful for the dedicated staff from nursing care, life enrichment, pastoral care, administration, dining services, and facilities management who helped make mom and dad's final years dignified and comfortable.
