Bickford Cottage Urbandale

Do NOT trust this place to care for your loved ones. Staff have horrible attitudes - INCLUDING MANAGEMENT. Caregivers talk ugly to each other and residents. The nurse Nibari acts annoyed that she has to actually do her job and is always ready to throw anyone under the bus. Jaleesa thinks she’s better than everyone and abuses her title as ED. This place is a complete joke. I pray for those that live there.

I was so impressed with the visit I made to Bickford. Clean, fun activities, caring and well trained caregivers. Beautiful community and an overall great experience!

Bickford of Urbandale has been a huge blessing to our family! It's very reassuring to know that my mom is in good hands, has 3 good meals a day provided as well as laundry and housekeeping. The directors and the staff have been very loving toward her and ready to help with any of my questions.

I have been thoroughly impressed with Bickford of Urbandale. The facility is exceptionally clean and welcoming, unlike any nursing home I’ve seen before. The Happiness Coordinator (Activity Director) is remarkable in keeping the residents engaged and entertained with a variety of fun activities. The inviting smells from the kitchen only add to the warm and homely atmosphere. The caregivers and medication assistants are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, providing excellent care and support. Overall, Bickford of Urbandale stands out for its exceptional service and genuine commitment to resident well-being. Highly recommend!

Her enthusiasm and creativity in organizing activities keep all residents engaged and entertained. Even with the most challenging residents, Sheena has an incredible ability to redirect and bring smiles to their faces. Her dual role as a medication assistant further highlights her depth of knowledge and commitment to the well-being of everyone in the facility. Additionally, Sanja, another exceptional medication assistant, has been a cornerstone of the team for many years. Her long-standing dedication and kindness are deeply appreciated and evident in her daily interactions. The entire atmosphere at Bickford of Urbandale is warm and inviting, making it feel more like a home than a facility. If I ever need to place a loved one in assisted living or memory care, Bickford of Urbandale will be my first choice. Their exceptional staff and heartfelt approach to care set them apart.
