The staff are kind, caring and patient. They encourage friendships and socialization, and I've seen them hug people who really needed those hugs.

When we were faced with my mother having dementia, we were on a deadline to provide the care that my mother needs. As we wanted to keep her in her home, we were not able to quit our jobs and provide for her financial care. Dave found Oxford Springs and called me immediately that this was the place for mom and he was right! The staff is AMAZING!! The love and care they provide is noticed immediately! Lisa and Tyler are spot on amazing! The activity directly is fabulous! They have constant activities, entertainers, festival for the holidays, amazing food and TRULY LOVE TVEIR PATIENTS! I leave there knowing my mom is ok and that means the world to us!!

It is so hard to put into words how wonderful this place was to my dad. Dealing with dementia was very confusing for all of us, and it was so hard to have to place him in a memory care home due to the level of care he needed. Also, nursing homes, etc. do not have the best reputations for treating the elderly, sick, or vulnerable adults sadly. There are so many horror stories or abuse of all kinds in these types of places. However, we were SO FORTUNATE to have Oxford open their arms wide to welcome not only my dad, but our entire family. This place changed all of our lives. From the first day while I was waiting for him to arrive by myself, everyone from the nurses, aides, cooking staff, etc. made conversation with me and answered all my questions and put any worries I had to rest. The positive personalities here are truly contagious. I never met one person I didn’t feel comfortable with. They hire their staff well. It is evident they truly care for their residents. Obviously, my dad was extremely confused moving somewhere new after over 30 years. But they understood what he was going through. They let him socialize and do things at a pace that felt right to him. They never forced anything. At any time, if there were ever concerns, they were immediately and PROPERLY addressed. My dad was never a rule follower honestly, but somehow the staff here brought out the best in him. So much so that they called him their star resident. That melted my heart! It made me so happy to see him thriving and being loved while we weren’t there. The facility itself is so clean and welcoming. I love the patio they have access to all hours of the day. There is no chance of escape with wanderers. They have the option for single bedrooms and we were able to do that and he could lock his door when he left his room and that helped him tremendously. We wouldn’t have left this facility if we hadn’t exhausted all financial resources to keep him here already. Unfortunately, systems in this world aren’t set up to properly care for the elderly and the cost is insane. He is in another memory care for the time being, which is state funded and it has been such a horrible experience compared to his year and a half at Oxford. I pray in the future we are able to bring him back to Oxford. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who helped care for my dad. I truly don’t know what would’ve happened without everyone’s kindness and genuine love for their residents.

Beware of this establishment, my mother in law was here for a few months before unfortunately passing on, there were cockroaches in her room we personally seen, we were told they would be taken care of but never was. My mother in law constantly complained of other residents coming into her room at all hours sometimes naked harassing her waking her up, these were patients with Alzheimer's , dementia and similar diseases allowed to freely go into other patients rooms. She also accused staff of treating her badly and not taking very good care of her. We got to the point we purchased a hidden camera installed in alarm clock and placed on her dresser only for us to find micro usb card missing first time we visited after placing then after replacing it clock was missing next visit so we never had any proof of what she was accusing them of. We had paid in advance and now 5 months later we are still waiting for last months refund, I was told I needed to speak with Sherry the office manager spoke to her multiple times and exchanged emails over the course of 3 weeks but now she won’t answer emails or phone calls, she just kept giving excuses and the runaround. I feel as if they scam quite a few people if this is how they do business normally, I’m going have to get lawyer in order to resolve. Just try calling them they won’t answer phone. Potential patient families beware!!

Standing on the porch that’s flooding for a long time isn’t fair to us visitors. I have timed it and taking 45 mins to finally get someone to door and after 5 the phones never get answered. But will see many outside smoking on side of building and not a soul inside. That was only one time. Now many other times it took a long while to get someone to door and what’s even worse many employees walking by like haha I don’t have to answer door. Frustrating. Once u get in the place is very calm and only a few in lobby. Rest of the residents in room. When trying to find someone to let you out is nearly impossible in a decent time. You will await at least 30 mins or longer. I was actually gonna climb out of grandma bedroom window to get out since I had to get to a Dr appt. But I went on and waited it out and rescheduled Dr appt since I would have been late. Anyways all workers knows anything. Ask one something they look at you like they don’t understand. Move to another and same response. If you need to know anything about your love one just call if they answer and get a report during business hours. I know since it’s became Oxford instead of Brookdale it’s seems to went down hill. I was looking for a nurse and was told he wasn’t there. Than seen him outside either smoking or vaping I know that’s everyone right to do so but least worker could have said he is on break. Anyways I could write a book but not enough characters on here to do so. Patient care is awful. The way they lay down residents is crazy. Why put yo be with pants pulled down. That’s just being lazy. Not one staff member actually sits and talks to the residents. They basically go from meals to bed and back and forth. If activities are going only a selected few gets to go. The activity director needs some more knowledge on activities for memory care. Yes memory care. Everyone thinks the residents are just normal.
