BUCKINGHAM SOUTH

My sister, Mary, resided at Buckingham South for almost two years. When admitted, she was suffering from early dementia and terminal skin cancer. She passed away shortly after her 90th birthday. From day one, she received excellent care from the entire Slatus family and staff. It's seldom, if ever, to find an assisted living facility with such individual treatment and concern. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for my father-in-law. Rita and her staff are wonderful. They treat their residents like family, and serve with excellence. Several staff members have been there for over 20 years—that is almost unheard of in this industry, and says a lot about how well this facility is run. Can’t say enough nice things! Thank you, Rita and staff, from a very grateful family.

My mom chose Buckingham South because she knew quite a few residents at that time and they highly recommended them. I'm glad she did because she got high quality care and I had peace of mind with me being out of state. Rita and the staff met her needs and took care of her like she was family. I was always informed and received regular updates on her well being. The great thing about the care is it is adjusted to your needs from being self sufficient all the way to end of life. There are a lot of things to really love about Buckingham South. The residents are kind to one another. New residents can bring beloved pets with them to Buckingham South which really helps with the transition for them. The apartments are large with more closet space and nice kitchenettes and my mother's sunny apartment was decorated beautifully with her art work and beautiful furniture. The most important things to know about Buckingham South is that Rita Slatus is always available to you and cares deeply about the residents and their families. She told me that residents are never sent off to nursing homes and that they can age at Buckingham South for the rest of their lives. No traumatic leaving their home at Buckingham South. This is absolutely fundamentally important to residents and families. My mother had several health issues and she needed extra care and Rita worked with me until she introduced me to caregivers through Buckingham South that my family adored and took excellent care of my mother. These caregivers became family and friends. The med techs there are extremely caring and wonderful people. This is a family run business and everyone is dedicated to their work with the residents. My mother loved being social with residents and enjoyed daily activities. As my mother's health declined, RIta was so supportive and her exceptional kindness will always be remembered.

My mom moved in October 2022 and loved it at Buckingham South. The facility is clean and there are so many activities for the residents. I am so glad I found such a great place for her. All the staff were very attentive to her. Thanks Rita and Buckingham South for taking such good care of my mom.
