CARE NETWORK OF TROY

This place is a disgrace to the residents thar live there. I would've given it 0 stars if I could as soon as you walk through the door you are hit with the smell of urine and feces in the air enhancing as you go further down the hall. Short staffing as usual with administration that probably just stays in their office with the door shut with no touch of reality. If you truly love your family member bypass this facility.

My dad was here for quite some time. In the last 3m of his stay he was in and out of the hospital for psych issues. Each time I would beg and plead them to do a UTI test. They insisted he was being unruly and needed to go to the hospital. They gave him multiple haldol shots even after I showed them proof that he was allergic to the shots. When he'd get to the hospital they would test him for a UTI and sure enough he'd be positive each time. The last straw was them insisting I write for him to go to a geriatric psych hospital for a full evaluation and after I agreed they didn't even tell me he had left. Once he returned they insisted I sign a DNR again and again. I refused because they refused to give me a valid reason. As I was hunting for a new facility they would call me daily "he fell trying to stand up", "he's yelling out- help me", just anything under the sun. I told them on a Monday that he'd be gone by Thursday and my plans were to put him in my car with a hoyer lift or via sit to stand transfer. When I dropped my sister off that Thursday morning to help him pack they told her, "he doesn't do the sit to stand anymore and we won't take our hoyer life ut to the car. You will need to get a wheelchair accessible transport to move him. " I was pissed they could have told me that on Monday but no they waited until moving day. I called around got transport setup and he went to the new facility. When he arrived they changed him first thing and told me. "You know he can stand with assistance and does just fine with assisted transfer. We could put him in your vehicle for you just fine." I was sooooo mad. At the new facility he us clean, cared for, does all kinds of activities and they slid the DNR away from me stating "we don't need that right now" ( I hadn't even said anything to them about the DNR situation) when I was signing his enrollment papers. As I walked out of Troy the last time I took huge note of how low the numbers were and a resident who complained about my dad yelling out asked me LOTs of questions about his new facility. This place is closing it's only a matter of time.

The care, love, and attention given to my husband mother, Dona, was amazing at Troy Manor. The food and selections were delicious. We even enjoyed a few meals with her just to taste them. Every staff member we ever saw or encountered was always working hard and we realize it's a hard and thankless job for most of the employees at a skilled nursing facility. We want to thank everyone at Troy Manor for the care they extend to those who need it most.

The nursing home should be closed.my brother has been in the home about two months. I have seen things that should not be done in a home. My brother become sick while I had covid and could not check on him. No one there contacted family member to let us know he was sick. The call we got was that my brother was sent to the hospital. As a result my brother died last night. He was that sick and we knew nothing about him being sick. We even called to see how he was and was told he was fine setting up eating snakes. That was not true. Not but you love on in that place worse care ever.

Close this place down!!! Recently had a relative that went there for physical therapy and then into the nursing home part of it after a short period time. This relative got better more so after they stop physical therapy . You walk into this place in the front door and smells like urine people's urine! It stinks. Watch the accounting practices how they shuffle money around. I was shown a local paper from from just a couple of months ago. Had a article about pain meds nurse. She's one of the nurses that dispense the medication like hydrocodone and similar drugs. She was arrested for taking these medications and charged. Let's assume innocence because that's how we are supposed to be in United States. because she's not been proven guilty by trail to my knowledge as of this time. They also took residences social security checks. Even when they did not want checks to be turnover and they were paying the bill themselves. They had sewer on multiple occasions back ups. that's raw sewage coming up through the floor drains into the hallways! They were using bath towels wadded up in front of the doors to try to keep sewage out of the rooms! I saw that personally on one visit. Reported it to the local Old age office. I'm not gonna mention that office because they may still be investigating. the government does move slow. One question. how is this place still open??? It is a hard thing to decide when your elder can cannot take care of herself. Where do you and how do you care for them? fortunately this relative has moved on. And is taking care of business on their own paying bills things. Things we take for granted every day. What and how do we care for folks when they get to the point they are the age and not the able to care for themselves. One answer is not not NOT Troy manor!!!!!! Look at the ratings. look in Illinois there's one just across the Mississippi. Also across the state in Saint Joe Missouri and just a half an hour north of this facility it is an excellent one. Beware they own three maybe five more nursing homes in the area. I don't remember the name of the corporation.It is hard to fine I apologize. Look at the ratings it tells her everything.
