Carefree Living

Do not place a loved one here. We placed my dad with dementia and they kicked him out after a few days. They literally put him out on the street. He had a reaction to a new medication but they didn’t take the time to treat him, just kicked him out and called the police on him. It was like they didn’t know how to handle the situation which was very surprising considering they are a memory care unit. Dad’s issue was figured out in a matter of days at the hospital but Carefree swiftly refunded our money and refused to take him back. This place only wants your loved one if they can pay and if they are heavily sedated.

Carefree Living was a Godsend to my mom, Gail, and I. Mom and I were very pleased with the care she received at Carefree. One thing that was very fun was the staff put a lot of work into celebrating every holiday with the residents and their families. Mom was so excited for the holiday celebrations. The owners and staff go out of their way to get to know each resident, and what they like. And do what their best to accommodate the residents. Two of the main things that helped me decide to place my mom at Carefree was the high staff: resident ratio. The second thing is a lot of the staff have worked there a number of years. Having experience with other assisted living facilities, this is very unusual and very important. You just don't experience that in other facilities. I just want to encourage families who are looking for an assisted living for their loved one, to consider Carefree Living. Carol miller

I couldn't wish for better people to care for my mom. Carefree Living has given us so much peace of mind.

Do NOT put anyone you care about in this facility. An elderly friend of mine was recently placed here and did not have a good experience at all. The staff were rude to her and did not want to help her to the toilet. Two weeks into her stay she asked for help to the bathroom and was told "go in your pants"! The caregiver who said that then proceeded to rifle through the dresser on the pretense of "cleaning out the drawers". My friend became scared to even ask for help after that. We were assured that she would have great care and the place seemed nice. It is a sham. The people in this place are basically being warehoused. The staff even made rude comments in my friend's presence about how they were "taking care of all these rich people ". It was horrible and my friend could not wait to leave. Do NOT waste your time and money on Carefree Living!!
