CEDARHURST OF TESSON HEIGHTS

My Grandma moved to Cederhurst of Tesson Heights just over a month ago. The hardest part of the move for her has been with the television service she has been paying for not working properly at all yet. Although TV programming might not be as critically high on the list of essential needs for a persons care, the lack of it has noticeably made a negative impact on her mental health. The lack of access to her familiar programs that brought her joy, laughs, and mental stimulation have really contributed to a loneliness and sadness setting in. What’s more frustrating about the situation is that our family has been in constant (multiple times a week) correspondence with the Executive Director to address and solve the issue, and although he has been responsive, no remedy has actually taken place to solve this ongoing issue. Update/Followup- My Grandma has been living here coming up on 4 months now. Although the staff has responded and communicated on this issue, no remedy has been made to either fix the current TV service that residents are paying for or to find a new service provider for the building (which they suggested months ago they were considering since the television issues seem perpetual for many residents). It’s really sad and frustrating that something like this, that really impacts the quality of life and enjoyment for residents has continued to be brushed off and ignored.

My mother has been a resident of Cedarhurst Tesson for over a year. She loves it! There are so many activities that she enjoys. She loves Bingo, Horse Races, music and dancing, joyrides and several of the outings. She has made many friends. All of the other residents are friendly and take care of each other. Is it perfect? No, in a perfect world we would not need a place like this. But I'm so thankful for all of the staff and their hard work and care they have for everyone who calls Cedarhurst Tesson their home.

I recently had the opportunity to tour the facility. I was particularly impressed with how the staff interacted with residents along the way. It is clean and well maintained. This is definitely my first choice to care for my mother in law.

It was a hard transition for my mom when we moved her but between Deanna and the staff, it’s become her home! The care and treatment she has received helps us kids know that she is in a safe environment and shown nothing but kindness. Deanna has been a true godsend to me, helping navigate hard situations and showing us kids compassion through it all

A well run assisted and independent living facility. The facility is well maintained and clean. The staff is very attentive to the residents needs. My father moved in about 2 months ago and is thriving, he has become more independent both mentally and physically. He loves the staff, his fellow residents, food and activities. The experience for my father and family has been nothing but positive. I would highly recommend and entrust Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights to take of your family member.
