The Concordia office in Cabot is absolutely fantastic. From management to staff to providers, everyone is top tier. You can truly feel how much they care about people and their overall well-being. The providers are experts in their fields and continuously work to stay up to date on advancements in healthcare so they can give their patients the best care possible. I couldn’t recommend them more.

My dad had a stroke and traumatic brain injury in the spring. He had a very rough 3 1/2 months and to our family’s heartbreak he passed in the summer. There is so much I can say about the care he received. He had been hospitalized 3 times. He spent time in a skilled nursing facility in Chicora that was terrible and neglectful. He had excellent home care from Concordia Visiting Nurses and Therapists (OT, PT, and Speech). And dad spent a couple weeks at Concordia in Cabot for therapy. As you can see, it was an emotional roller coaster. After his stay at the other nursing home we honestly had our guard up when he went to Concordia. We spent all waking hours with Dad. We quickly realized Concordia was no comparison to the other nursing home. When you walk in you are greeted by a sincerely friendly receptionist. Dad received PT, OT, and Speech. I would watch therapists Tony and Maddie work with my dad. They genuinely wanted him to recover. You could see it in the way they worked with dad. The nurses and aides treated dad with respect and kindness. They understood he was confused because of the stroke damage and they were patient with him. When we would ring for the nurse or aide someone came quickly. I wish I could remember the nurses and aides names that worked with Dad but truthfully we liked them all. There is a balcony we would sit on with a beautiful view. There is a pond and gazebo we took dad to get outside. They also have a beautiful courtyard that the residents, patients, and families can sit at. The last time my dad was in the hospital Concordia’s one pastor stopped almost daily in my dad’s hospital room to pray with me for my dad. When my dad passed we received an online condolence from one of his nurses that cared for him. She always had joked around with dad. Another nurse also extended his condolences. And Karen, an administrator was amazing through it all. I would highly recommend Concordia in Cabot based on the care I witnessed my Dad receive there. The respect and kindness they showed my Dad meant so much to me.

My Grandma stayed here for 2 weeks after a fall. They were AMAZING!!! Every single person who tended to her was caring, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. We were very comfortable with her being there. We even had experience with maintenance when her mattress got switched out and he was also wonderful. Our family would highly recommend Concordia at Cabot! Huge thanks to her PT Erica, OT Nate and all the nurses and Aides. We have zero complaints

My name is Bud Sears. I am a retirement living resident at Concordia Cabot, PA. I chose Concordia at Cabot while I was active and in good health. I witnessed my parents taking care of mothers in their home. At that time I made a promise to myself that I would not burden my children with taking care of their father. I have been a resident since 2018. I moved from West Virginia to Cabot. At Concordia at Cabot, a resident is afforded many opportunities for their older adult life. There is medical care, medical transportation, counseling, scheduled monthly professional entertainment activities at the campus, Holiday celebrations and a multitude of volunteer programs you can participate in. One of my favorite volunteer activities is the opportunity to do gardening and provide fresh vegetables for the residents and staff. Another opportunity is a fully functional woodshop at each Haven. Many projects can be completed by the individual for personal use or for the residents. I came to Concordia to live not to die. With this attitude I have been able to maintain a healthful and rewarding lifestyle. No amount of words or pictures can describe the campus at Cabot. It is truly a gem in the forest. Completely surrounded by farmland where you can enjoy fresh cut hay or witness the wild fowl landing on a picturesque lake. During the year there is a Summer Festival and Oktoberfest that are attended by residents and people from the surrounding area. If you are considering living in a wonderful and beautiful atmosphere when you retire, you will be doing yourself a disfavor if you do not visit Cabot. I promise you will be impressed with the campus and management. At Concordia Cabot I am truly living the dream. I will be 90 years old next year and look forward to celebrating my 100th at Cabot.

My Mom has been in the personal care area of Concordia at Cabot for approximately 2 1/2 years. We are blessed to have a loving, caring and meaningful facility where she can feel comfortable and safe. The nursing staff, administrative staff and social worker are attentive with a personal touch. They all seem to know Mom’s preferences. My mom is very social , however doesn’t communicate as well as when she was younger and our most valued service is their incredible activities team! The quality of the activities would be hard to match. For example, in one week, Elvis came to give a concert with a history lesson of his life, the Pittsburgh Zoo brought small animals to share their story and a church group sang the most lively hymns you could imagine. I’m so grateful we have a place like Concordia for our mom.
