Update on my original review as a lot has happened in the past 20 months - Run fast and run far from this place. Please don’t move your loved ones here. The administration is hiring male aides and requiring that the female patients receive personal hygiene care including showers from newly hired male aides. The staff and administrators all use the exact same verbiage like get on board and this is how it is and complaints will not change things. I understand that many female patients are refusing their showers and washing up in the sink and also washing their hair in the sink to avoid being humiliated by male aides. The smells and odors in that place are horrible. No consideration for human dignity or respect. When you complain, they MAKE YOU OUT TO BE THE PROBLEM. Think long and hard before moving your loved one into this situation. The place is old but they charge TOP dollar there. This place has a lot of positives! The nurses are kind and caring. The activities director is a gem. Maintained well and clean. BUT it is extremely, EXTREMELY under staffed and it is very concerning. Basic patient care and hygiene is many times skipped or ignored completely due to lack of staff. Residents don’t get the care they deserve or pay for.

My mother has been there almost a month now and she is very happy. Over the years she has stayed at several different Nursing Facilities. This was the first where she is not asking, "When am I going home." Staff are very friendly and caring(probably could use more help like everywhere). Very clean, beautiful grounds, appetizing meals and snacks and wonderful activities.

My father was a resident between October 2020, after a fall left him unable to live independently, and March 2021, when he passed. He thoroughly enjoyed interacting with staff--from those who cleaned his room and did his laundry, to those who provided his meals, his personal care, or served as administrators. To a person, he was treated compassionately. I never failed to receive timely updates on my father's condition and witnessed firsthand how he was genuinely treated as one of the Concordia family--so important to me during the very difficult times imposed by COVID-19. Each person much perform their own due diligence. However, based on the experience I had, I strongly recommend that you consider Concordia of Franklin Park for the personal care of your loved ones.

My father was there for a short period of time and we took him out. They put him in a dirty room, his health declined quickly and the memory care looked liked a run down basement. We were totally unsatisfied.with the environment.i do have to say some of the staff were very caring and kind
