Cornerstone At Hampton

My mom has been there for over three months now and she is very much loved here. She is not an activity person but would rather just talk and walk around and the staff have been so kind. This is my mom's 6th placement and I can vouch for most of the staff that seem to really understand her needs. She loves the food and afternoon smoothies, along with the classes that actually work on her memory (this is a first!) Most places over promise and under deliver but so far this has been a wonderful fit. Additionally, the nursing staff were able to sense when my mom wasn't well and were quick to call me thus SAVING HER LIFE! This happened twice. I literally sleep now and not worry as much as I used to. This place has brought peace to our entire family.

My dad is receiving excellent care at Cornerstone.! Having him in a memory care unit is not always easy for our family, but the fact that he is known so well by the staff and everyone is so kind, patient and supportive-- of all of us -- really means the world to us. It makes the experience of having a loved one in a locked memory unit so much nicer and easier than I ever imagined it could be. Anytime we are visiting, and something comes up, the staff responds immediately, they listen, follow up, and never make us feel like we are inconveniencing them. Last week, I had a difficult visit with my dad (for a few reasons, none of them to do with Cornerstone), and on the way out, the activity director stopped us because she wanted to introduce her son-in-law, a firefighter, to my dad. Her daughter and son-in-law were there with their kids, and she thought my dad (a retired firefighter) would enjoy meeting them. It made his day! It was so thoughtful and kind of her to take that extra step to arrange a visit to make him happy, and it is an example of the personalized care that my dad receives. The staff at Cornerstone work hard, and their efforts big and small are making a difference for the residents and their families. We are so grateful.

I can't say enough about the experience at Cornerstone for my parents and our entire family. The staff is responsive, friendly and caring. The amenities are top notch. Whenever we visit (which is often), my wife and I and our kids feel welcomed and we participate in community events with my parents - like the annual intergenerational "prom" with a local high school. When my mother passed away, I was so grateful that my dad had such a supportive community to return to. We made the right choice for my parents for their assisted living. We'd choose it again.

My father has lived at Cornerstone for 4 years and we have had a wonderful experience. The Cornerstone staff truly foster a loving community. The programs are incredibly enriching: live music, visits from local students, projects with the local students, a monthly veterans club, family picnics and parties and arts and crafts (to name just a few.) The outdoor courtyard is spacious and feels like a beautiful backyard; my father and I have spent many precious hours together there. Many times we are joined by friends. Most importantly, and the real reason we are so happy, is that the staff treat the residents with the utmost love and respect. I would recommend Cornerstone without reservation.

My family will be forever grateful that we found Cornerstone's memory care facility when we needed help with my mother. We would rate Cornerstone a 10 if we could. The staff were simply amazing...each and every person was so incredibly kind and respectful. The facilities were clean; the activities were interesting; and my mom really enjoyed the food. Cornerstone was so good for my mom. I would highly recommend it.
