I’ve been working with the team at Discovery Commons Bethel Park for about 5 months now. I’m blown away by their dedication to their residents and staff. They are truly there to make a difference!

This place is a joke. If you care about your loved ones, don’t send them here. Rude staff, terrible food, waiting forever to be assisted. The manager Mary or Maureen that tells you about the place completely oversells it, don’t expect it to be anything what they say. Ive been hearing too how poorly staff get treated there from many people, no wonder they have no good workers. Moving to a new place is such a hassle but I guess its what its come down to. Better luck out in Greensburg area, they have very nice places. Shouldve went with the longer drive!

My grandma has lived here for quite some time and used to receive excellent care from caregivers she truly liked. Unfortunately, over the past couple of months, the facility has gone noticeably downhill and many of the good staff members seem to be gone. I’m an RN, and when I’ve tried speaking with the nursing staff about my grandma’s care, they often seem unsure or uninformed. The only nurse I’ve consistently had a good experience with is Evonne, she comes across as knowledgeable, credible, and attentive. While the facility is generally clean, and there are on occasion friendly workers, I frequently see caregivers passing medications while loudly talking on the phone, which feels very unprofessional. My grandma also waits an average of 30 minutes for help after pressing her call bell, and the longest wait has been over an hour. When I’ve brought this to management’s attention, I haven’t received clear answers or solutions. For the cost of living here, the quality of care does not match what is being paid for. I really hope to see some improvements very soon, because I have extended my patience very far with this place.

I can’t say enough good things about this senior living community! From the moment we first toured the facility, I felt such a sense of peace and comfort knowing my grandma would be in great hands. The entire place is incredibly clean and well-maintained, you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping it that way. Speaking of the staff… they are truly wonderful. Every person we’ve interacted with has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know each resident and always greet my grandma by name with a smile. I love how they make her feel seen and valued. Another thing that makes me feel so good about having her here is the variety of activities they offer. Whether it’s game nights, art classes, exercise programs, or special events, there’s always something fun going on to keep her engaged and social. It’s been so nice to see her making new friends and staying active. Knowing she’s in a place where she’s safe, happy, and well cared for has brought me and my family so much peace of mind. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a loving, clean, and vibrant place for their loved one.

My dad was taken care of very well in his 4/12 years as a resident. Most of the staff was very attentive to him and they tried to meet all of his needs. Many of them went above and beyond. Of course, there are always some things that can be improved, but I know especially in these last months that they are working very hard to make positive changes and it shows. The director, administrative staff, the front desk, housekeeping, (thank you Diania) maintenance and all the people who took care of my dad were all very kind. A hug, a smile and kind words meant everything to my dad. I was so appreciative of that. My father recently passed away and I feel like I am leaving my Sheridan family because that’s how it felt. We were a family. Thank you to everyone for all of their hard work and dedication. I will miss you all.
