I took my sister there for a short stay. The staff was friendly. It was nice and clean. The food looked and smelled wonderful. All of the permanent residents were happy and spoke well of their stay there, which is a sign. Keep up the good work Dogwood Bend.

I am for ever so greatful for the staff at Dogwood Bend, i love this place, bringing my Aunt down here from a place in Alabama was the best decision i made, this place and staff are like extended family, they took care of her like it was there own family member and the most important part was, that my Aunt felt so very comfortable there all the way to the end. Thank you Dogwood Bend staff for the loving care you gave my Aunt, i highly recommend this place to anybody that is looking for a place for there loved ones, your loved one will not just be a number there, your loved one will be a family member there and that is what i wanted for my Aunt. My appreciation goes out to the staff of Dogwood Bend. If i could give more than 5 stars I would Best wishes Beatrix Schmitt

Our family will always be very grateful to Dogwood Bend for the wonderful care provided to our Mother over the past year. They treated our entire family with love and respect and assisted us in working through many issues and concerns. Thank you to the entire staff and administration!

The staff and facility provided a safe and loving home for my father for 18 months. We felt like the staff was our family. They were always respectful to his wants and needs. My Dad and I chose Dogwood Bend together and we were pleased with the decision.

Based on personal experience with a family member resident in the facility, I know that Dogwood Bend used to be a wonderful community to which loved ones could be entrusted.  Prior to December 2017, the facility was staffed by a strong team of hardworking, trustworthy, trained, long term, caring and devoted personnel.  Prior to December 2017, Dogwood Bend was a place people wanted to stay and enjoy their senior years.  However, in my opinion, the arrival of new management, resulted in the entire place falling apart in a matter of weeks.  Long term employees quit or were fired. In my opinion, administrative concern for residents' safety and health plummeted.  Showers were not given and rooms were not cleaned for weeks.  New employees, many without substantial background in elder care, received a bare minimum of training before being allowed to undertake key duties such as medication distribution. Although Dogwood Bend promised changes that would restore the prior friendly, safe and congenial atmosphere of the facility, the larger problems, in my opinion, remain fully unresolved.  Several residents moved out for a variety of reasons, including a sense that the high cost at Dogwood Bend wasn't worth the deteriorating services now received. Staffing there is a revolving door, creating, in my opinion, an unstable and uncertain environment to a population of vulnerable seniors who need calm routine in their lives. At this point, I would never recommend Dogwood Bend as a place to put a loved family member.  Definitely do your homework before selecting any long term care facility for a family member.  I was amazed at how quickly a once splendid place like Dogwood Bend could hit the skids. If the place ever returns to its former charm, it will be a miracle.
