The treatment received from East Ridge Village at Cutler Bay, specifically from the individual identified as Tailenis León, toward my mother has been completely unacceptable and potentially negligent. My mother was admitted to this rehabilitation facility after suffering two ischemic events. While under their care, she developed a cardiac complication that required an emergency transfer to the hospital. Several days later, once she was stabilized and medically cleared for discharge, the hospital attempted to coordinate her return to the facility so she could continue her rehabilitation treatment. However, the individual identified as Tailenis León repeatedly refused to accept my mother back into the facility. The hospital attempted to contact the facility multiple times, and the response was always the same: refusal, without a clear explanation, without communication with the family, and without assuming responsibility for continuity of care. It is important to make clear that my mother was originally admitted to the facility in a much more critical medical condition than the one she had when the hospital attempted to readmit her. Despite this, the facility refused to accept her back, even though there were available beds. Tailenis León never spoke with us, never returned our calls, and when we personally went to the facility, we spoke with one of the staff members, who expressed surprise at the refusal, stating that they had patients with conditions far more complex than my mother’s. As a direct consequence of this decision, my mother lost access to her intensive rehabilitation program, which has seriously affected her neurological and functional recovery. Interrupting therapy after an ischemic event can have permanent consequences. The lack of communication, the repeated refusal to readmit the patient, and the absence of explanations constitute conduct that is highly questionable from an ethical, medical, and legal standpoint. We are currently evaluating legal action for possible negligence and patient abandonment, as this decision has directly impacted my mother’s health and quality of life. This matter will be brought before the appropriate regulatory authorities and legal representation in order to determine responsibility.

I didn't like the place. There isn't enough staff to attend to the patients. In the morning, the lights in the hallways are turned on because the patients need assistance, but it takes a long time for someone to come. The nurse says she has to attend to all the patients and can't focus on just one, but the truth is, if someone has a physiological emergency, I don't think they can wait very long. The care isn't good; they aren't attentive in their treatment.

I wanted to take a moment to share my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care my mother received during her two-month stay at East Ridge at Cutler Bay Rehabilitation Center. The facility truly exceeded our expectations—it felt like a resort, impeccably clean, and provided outstanding service. The staff was incredibly attentive, always ensuring my mother’s comfort and well-being. Their professionalism and kindness gave me great peace of mind, knowing she was in excellent hands. I highly recommend East Ridge at Cutler Bay to anyone in need of quality rehabilitation care. Our experience was truly outstanding, and I am grateful for the level of dedication and compassion shown by the entire team. Thank you.

Been here 12 years...best decision I ever made. At age of 90, I am the happiest I have ever been. Why? Physical - have lost 15 lbs because I walk two miles and swim 20 laps EVERY DAY. Very easy life - practice random acts of kindness with residents in need. Involved in activities I like and are enjoyed by other residents, bocce, darts, monthly Jib Jab, coordinating monthly affairs for our 30 military vets. Can't believe my close friends want to live alone in their 4 B/R homes, when this is an option. Love the 76 acres to put around with ,my electric scooter. Gary Sisler

If I could give Three Palms 6 stars I would. My mother spent 11 days until she passed away. I was there with her 2-3 times per day at different times. These are the most caring people. So clean, the place always smelled good mothers care was above and beyond. They were very accommodating in every way. The administration was very helpful in getting my mom placed. East Ridge reminded me of a Disney resort in many ways. Great staff, great place all around. Highly recommend.
