Elderwood Village Vestal was the very best place for my mother, for her last 5 1/2 years. She was loved and cared for by the most caring staff you could ever find. Everyone knew my mom and she was at home and safe. I live miles away, but always in touch and always felt assured of her care with the same staff year after year.

My family and I were searching for an assisted living facility for our mother and visited Elderwood Village in Vestal. While we have chosen to keep our mother at home for now we would have gone with these people. The facility was spotlessly-clean. We insisted on talking to residents and they all lavished at how well they loved the place including the food and people who worked there. It seemed to us that it was a very inviting facility and anyone whom we came into contact with was friendly and upbeat, from the workers to the residents. That made us feel confident had we moved our mother in there. We happened to be there during lunch and the food looked great. The dining area was large, well-lit, and most important, CLEAN. Hope this helps anyone who is in the same situation we are. We tended to look at reviews, also, and based our initial search.

My mother had some health issues in 2021 and was no longer able to live at home. We checked out a few assisted living centers and thought that Elderwood at Vestal would be a good fit. As a matter of fact it has been even better that I had imagined. The staff is very thoughtful and caring, and has helped my mom through a few difficult transitions, including one (temporary) hospital stay. My mom likes that it's pet friendly (she has a cat!), and I really do sleep soundly at night knowing she has such excellent care. I cannot endorse Elderwood at Vestal enough.

The entire staff has lovingly cared for my dad since his arrival in November. The move for him and our family has been a big one, but the staff have welcomed us into the Elderwood community and helped us navigate the transition with ease. Colleen is kind, compassionate, and attentive to every detail to be sure he is comfortable and our minds are at ease. The clinical staff provides excellent care and have kept family informed and involved as my dad navigated health challenges. The meals are superb and the activities engaging. We appreciate knowing a competent and caring NP visits the facility weekly so that we don't have to travel out for primary care appointments. My dad is thriving in this community, and we have peace of mind knowing he is cared for 24/7. This allows us to enjoy visiting without the worry of the details of his care. Recently he celebrated his 85th birthday, and everyone in the community helped to make the day special and memorable. As a nurse practitioner, I would highly recommend the Elderwood Village at Vestal to anyone searching for assisted living for their loved one.
