Choosing Fairfield County House for our loved one’s hospice care was the best decision we made during an incredibly difficult time. The level of compassion, kindness, and genuine human care shown by every member of the staff was truly extraordinary. From the moment our mother arrived, we noticed an immediate and dramatic improvement in the quality of care compared with her time in an excellent local hospital that also provided excellent (general impatient hospice or “GIP” care), however, while well-intentioned, simply was not staffed, equipped or designed for end-of-life care in the same way. At Fairfield County House, residents and families are treated with deep respect, dignity, and warmth. The staff consistently go out of their way to ensure everyone feels comfortable, secure, and truly at home. The facility itself is beautiful and peaceful. It looks and feels like a private residence rather than a cold or busy medical institution. It is impeccably clean, quiet, and calming. It is a newer space thoughtfully designed specifically for hospice care. Each resident has a large private room with a garden views, lots of natural light and a spacious bathroom, creating a sense of privacy and serenity. There is also a welcoming, well-appointed kitchen where family members and staff can prepare or bring foods tailored to a patient’s individual needs—something that made a meaningful difference compared to a hospital setting. What touched us most was how sincerely the staff cared for our mother—not as a patient, but as a person, and truly as one of their own respecting her culture and language which was no barrier to her care. This was not performative kindness; it was real, heartfelt dedication to their calling. One moment (among many) we will never forget was when a nurse, a busy mother who lives some distance away, came in on her day off simply to visit her because they had formed a close bond. That gesture speaks volumes about the people who work here. We cannot say enough positive things about Fairfield County House and the entire team. They will forever have our deepest gratitude. If you are seeking hospice care for a loved one, look no further.

When we first visited the Fairfield County House (FCH) in search of place to support our Uncle Joe's needs we immediately knew we had come to the right place. The team met with us to thoroughly understand our Uncle and his current condition. They provided us expert advice and guidance that proved both timely and accurate. Our Uncle's transition was carefully planned and executed. We were encouraged to transform his room to look and feel as if he were still at home. We brought his favorite blanket and pillow, pictures of family and friends, artwork he enjoyed was hung for him to see and most importantly his record player with a selection of his classical albums to play. The care and treatment Uncle Joe received was excellent. The team seamlessly collaborated on his care with Joe's Primary Care Physician and Hospice Nurse. The team was quickly able to instill the confidence we needed that Joe would be well cared for at this delicate stage in his life. Most importantly for us, the team made us feel welcome at any hour to come sit and enjoy time with our Uncle whether we only had ten minutes or hours to spend. The ease of access and the welcoming feel of the Fairfield County House quickly spread through Joe's family and friends. Many came to visit Joe throughout his stay there. We would highly recommend the Fairfield County House and the wonderful team there. Gratefully Submitted by Joe's Nephew Robbie.

The most wonderful place, with the kindest and most caring staff. Recently I had TWO very close friends live at FH (at the same time) for their last three months of life. Words cannot describe how very special their days there were, thanks to all staff there who tenderly cared for them. AND, how beautifully the staff watched over us, their family and friends, as we visited with them. If there is Heaven on earth, it is at FH. Our most sincere THANKS to all staff who helped us on that journey. Carole McIvor

Our grandmother was treated like a queen at FC Hospice House. At 99 years old she was made comfortable and even improved to the point where she could have moved to another care facility for a period of time but knew she would not receive the excellent care she did if we moved her. She was there for almost 14 months and the entire staff loved and cared for as if she was a part of their own family. The facility is brand new with spacious private rooms for the residents, and calming for visiting family. The staff went out of their way every day and became a part of our family. This is the absolute best place for someone you love.
