GARDENS AT SOUTHERN MANOR, THE

My tour at The Gardens with Jordan was great. Out of all the facilities I called, he was the only one who called me back, and that really stood out to me. The community looked and smelled so clean and inviting. I’m really looking forward to moving my mom in when a room becomes available. Such a great place!

We moved dad to The Garden after he had 2 strokes within 2 weeks and was not healthy enough to move back to his previous assisted living home. We knew nothing about The Garden but needed a new home for dad quickly. Jordan Sears [Executive Director] quickly met with us and gave us a tour. By the grace of God, there was a room available and we moved dad from the rehab hospital. When dad got there he was weak, wasn't eating much and couldn't even get himself out to the car. The amazing folks at The Garden have loved and cared for dad so well. We see weekly improvements in his health and his attitude is great [that's not always been the case for him]. He is walking to meals, laughing with the staff and is genuinely happy there. Jordan and the rest of the wonderful staff sends us updates on dad and they spend time with us when we visit. The staff meets dad where he is and accepts him for who he is - a sometimes grumpy, sarcastic, retired military, business owner, always in charge, aging dad. I feel so blessed to have dad at The Garden. I have no concerns about his care - I know he is the perfect place for him. I highly recommend The Garden for anyone who wants a loving caring home for their aging parent.

The Gardens Senior Living is a true gem in our community. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth and care that goes into every detail. Jordan, the executive director, as well as his entire staff is kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of each resident. He goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and at home. You should see how they light up during activities! It’s so heartwarming to see the residents feeling like they truly are at home. The facilities are always clean and beautifully maintained, as well. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. The birds are so sweet getting to listen to them sing. I think the residents truly enjoy that feature. Residents can enjoy activities, delicious meals, and make new friendships here! I couldn’t recommend The Gardens more highly to anyone looking for quality senior living in the Statesboro area. They treat their residents like family and it shows!

Dad had lived at the Gardens since June 2024 after we weren't able to provide the care he deserved. My interaction with staff and Jordan (executive director) has always been positive. The ladies work hard and many of them have been there a long time. They are respectful of me and of Dad. He'll be transitioning from assisted living to memory care this week. While not necessarily easy for me to accept, it was suggested at the appropriate time and with Dad's need and safety front and center. While interacting with a long term care facility is never a welcome event, Alan, Jordan and their staff let me sleep soundly every night knowing Dad is in capable hands.

We placed my mom here late last year. She has done extremely well. She likes living in a community of her peers. The staff is friendly as well as most other residents. They have weekly or daily activities for the residents such as games, exercises, etc. They're also open to family and friends visiting the residents. They do a good job of making sure my mom gets her meals, medications, as well as checking on her to make sure she is comfortable and well cared for. They keep her laundry washed regularly and clean her room daily. I visit fairly frequently and her room, dining room, hallways, etc. always seem to be kept clean and in good order. If you're thinking about a forever home for your loved one, I would definitely recommend The Gardens. This is my mom's 3rd assisted living residence and she seems to have settled in well and is happy. Also, they have a nice front and side porch with a view to the pond outside. This is easily maneuvered if your loved one uses a rollator, walker, or wheelchair.
