Great assisted living facility. Many activities for the residents to participate in and stay as active as they want. Wide variety of meal choices.

Exceptional care, administrative talent & joyful, kind hearted employees. The residents are appreciative & happy. They all go above and beyond expectations.

This is a WONDERFUL place! My grandmother was here and she liked it very much! The staff is all kind, patient and very helpful. The rooms are cute and cozy and you’re allowed to decorate how you would like. They plan so many wonderful activities for the residents - and their menus are AWESOME! They have a special of the day but always have a static menu to choose from - so even picky eaters have something. 😁 I live out of state and had to do a lot of business over the phone. Tasha, Rene & Laura are FANTASTIC!! They made things so easy and are truly gems. If you are looking for an Assisted Living that is super comfortable, safe, has wonderful people around you - this is the place for you or your loved one!

Extremely Unprofessional Staff – Dee & Izzy My experience with The Gardens in Cherokee, Iowa, has been negatively impacted by two staff members in particular – Dee and Izzy. Both exhibit extremely negative attitudes and regularly engage in unprofessional behavior, including gossiping about coworkers, residents, and even management. Rather than contributing positively to the environment, they seem more focused on stirring up drama and running to department heads with petty complaints. Their behavior creates a toxic atmosphere that is not suitable for an assisted living facility where professionalism, compassion, and teamwork should be top priorities. That said, the only reason I still have some faith in this place is because of Renee Fluent. She is, without question, the best manager and nurse I’ve ever encountered. Renee is the backbone of this facility. She’s professional, compassionate, dependable, and truly dedicated to her staff and the residents. If you come to the Gardens, any communication or contact with Renee Fluent will be a great one. She’s the reason things continue to run as well as they do. Both Tasha and Renee have been a good team when it comes to choosing where to place your loved one. The Gardens could be a truly exceptional facility, but serious action needs to be taken to address staff who are creating such a disruptive and negative environment.
