Gateway Gardens is a top notch facility that I would highly recommend. Heather is a wonderful ED who really cares for both her staff and the residents. The staff are all so friendly, welcoming and passionate for what they do. I love Gateway Gardens and can assure you that you will too!

Unless your loved one is ambulatory and can do their own ADLs, don't trust them at this facility. My family member has not even been here for two months yet and she's already fell three times. That's not even a big deal because people will fall at these types of places. The big deal is that they don't answer the phone at night when you call. She will use her pendant to ask for help to get her off the floor, and nobody will come for hours sometime. When you call the facility, memory care center will answer the phone and they will put you on hold and transfer you to the assisted-living side and nobody answers. All you get is voicemail. Nobody returns your calls. I have had to go to this place to give my mother a bath. I have had to help her change her briefs. I have had to help her change her linen and do her laundry. I'm paying almost 5000 a month and they say they will help you with these tasks. She's 85 for Christ sake. They just take your money. They also said that they take them on appointments to the doctor. That's a lie. I've taken my mother every single appointment, at least five of them. I'm doing everything myself. I was sold a dream. They misrepresented the facts and they make it look like they are top-notch facility that will do all these things and they are lazy. I've already seen 2 different executive directors in just three months. They don't even have the courtesy to send out a mass email to tell you that they're leaving. You will email and no response, only to find out a week or two later that the person you're sending an email to no longer works there. The turnover with staff is too high. People with Alzheimer's dementia need stability and structure. Like most assisted-living places, they say they have a Director of nursing who happens to be an LPN. Nobody's really educated enough and experienced enough clinically to know what's going on with these residents. As for the doctors appointments that they say they will take your family member to, Be prepared to wait for several months until there's a vacancy. That means if your mom or dad have problems Such as pain or blood pressure issues, they have to wait four months until they have an available slot to take them to the doctor. My issue is that they omitted this information when I interviewed them. They got the clinicals from the doctors so they knew what they were dealing with. My mother has no bed sores and she she's not somebody that really needed full care. She still is alert and oriented with periods of forgetfulness. She happened to fall at their facility and broke her arm. The issue is how they handled things. I should've got a call as soon as she fell. They called me after they called an ambulance and had my mother in route to the hospital. This was a couple of days after she fell. She just happened to have a lot of pain in her arm, which caused them to call 911. Why was I not told about this in advance so that I could decide if I wanted to personally, bring her to the hospital of choice. She did not have a brain bleed or some major injury. She simply said her arm hurt. There's a lot of things that have gone wrong and they dropped the ball and failed to take responsibility. The worst part is that when you write an email as they request so that they can see your complaint in writing, The information that you convey to the executive Director gets misconstrued and the communication breaks down as usual, and the people who you complain about will call you directly to Try and intimidate you and make you aware that they are knowledgeable about the complaint that you made. Am I supposed to be scared? Whose mother would fall on the floor and their daughter not mention it ? They would mention it too if it were their mom. But to expect me to pay $28 hr for private caregivers and then give 4600 month...Gateway should be doing all those things. If they answered the call light in a timely manner, She wouldn't have tried to get up herself and ended up on the floor

I would give more stars if possible. I have visited this facility and personally know some of the staff members. I also work in activities at another facility and I can tell you this place is fantastic. The residents are so happy and the staff is fully attentive to their needs. I can not say enough about this community.

Mom moved to Gateway Gardens from a larger assisted living community in the Atlanta area about two months ago. Her apartment is very nice and spacious. The community appears to be very clean and well kept. Mom tells me that the food is very good. She seems so much happier at Gateway Gardens and she's even made some friends there already. They offer many activities to keep the residents engaged and entertained. The activities director is fantastic. I've had a great experience with numerous members of the staff. They all appear to be very caring and competent. The management has been exceptional. Heather usually calls me every week or so and keeps me abreast of mom's condition. She's very knowledgeable and seems very committed to running a first class facility.
