GLADE AVENUE ASSISTED LIVING

So far good. They replaced the urine stained smelly carpet last week. The new flooring is great. There is a new Administrator, her name is Willie Ferguson and she is terrific.Staff is OK. Lots of positive changes are coming- 2026 will be a good year!

UPDATE: The owners reached out to me and at my request sent a refund by cashier's check. They apologized and explained that the ownership transition did not go as smoothly as they would have liked. Based on that, I upgraded my review, although it also reflects the care provided by the previous owners through 3 or 4 management changes over an 18-24 month period. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My mother was a resident at this facility. Care was mostly adequate, but many times we found her room had not been cleaned, the trash had not been emptied, and soiled items had not been laundered causing the room to stink. These issues were cleared up pretty quickly most of the time. As most residents do, she had a DNR on file. She was found unresponsive one morning and it doesn't appear that DNR was communicated to EMS, because she was intubated against her wishes. She passed away later that day. Rent and fees are paid in advance. We cleared out her personal effects and were told that a pro-rated refund would be issued in a few days. In the months since, I have followed-up many times. I have been told the owners live out of state and were away for approximately two months on vacation, and were therefore unable to process any refunds. I was prohibited from reaching out to them directly, and (until last week) could not even get a name of a person responsible. Then I was also told they mailed the check from New York to the wrong address, despite having used my address for her bills since she came to live there. Last week I received a clumsily-handwritten check drawn on a local account. It was returned for insufficient funds today.

We visited Glade Ave Assisted Living for the Thanksgiving family dinner a few days ago, and it was truly wonderful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was the first time I really got to experience the community my mom has been living in. The food was genuinely great, and the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. I’m so grateful for how they’ve helped my mom feel at home. Highly recommend.

Our dad is in the memory care unit, and every time we visit, it feels so warm and welcoming. The staff are kind and attentive, and the environment is comfortable and caring. We’re so thankful knowing he’s in good hands.

My mom has been living here since Feb, and we’re very happy to have her here. The staff are so friendly and caring — they really treat the residents like family. Every time we visit, she seems to be having such a great time and always has something nice to say about everyone.I would definitely recommend this facility for your loved ones.
