Glenwood Place

Our mom has just moved into Glenwood’s memory care facility. We’ve been very please so far. She has stayed at Glenwood before, for respite care, and she’s always enjoyed her stay.

I had a very disappointing interaction with the Director of Glenwood Place, Lisa Hall. Our restaurant reached out to clarify a standard business policy before her order was picked up, and instead of a respectful conversation, we were met with rudeness and hostility. Just like this place has policies in place that are asked to be respected, other businesses do as well. It’s unfortunate to experience that level of unprofessionalism from someone in a leadership position at a senior living facility. Respect and communication go both ways, especially when representing a business that serves vulnerable residents in our community.

Our Mom had her 100th birthday celebration last weekend. The staff at Glenwood made it such a special celebration: flowers, cake and punch, staff members who stayed present all the time and continually helped! What great hospitality! Thanks so much from all of us.

We visited Glenwood place on Saturday to look at respite options for my mom. I was very pleased that Brooke spoke with mom instead of me during our visit. She was not defensive (as she has been when looking at other care services), and engaged with Brooke. I feel comfortable with this as a respite option in the future.

We visited on a Wednesday afternoon. The atmosphere was cheerful and decorated very nicely. The residents appeared happy, friendly and had a variety of activities to choose from that day. Everything we saw was clean and the apartments that we were able to see were efficient, clean, and tidy. We were happy about the ability of each individual resident to bring their own furniture and belongings so that they could make the apartment their own.
