We moved my mom into Golden Heights at the end of January this year. I’ve purposely held back doing a review to provide an honest assessment/comparison. We had a rocky 9 months at another Assisted Living facility by Forbes Hospital, and before that she was at a different facility for 2 1/2 years until they closed so I’ve seen allot. Lee made the move in process easy and Bill from maintenance was very helpful with assisting my husband with wall mounting mom’s TV. Kathy and Donna from the office have being gracious with their time answering the few questions or concerns I’ve raised. My sisters and I are at Golden Heights at least every day other day. I understand not all families can be visible, but we make it our priority so that we know the staff and they know us. The staff has been kind, caring, respectful and prompt when responding to mom’s push of the call bell for help because she is in a wheelchair. They make mom laugh and many of them provide hugs that at 90 she loves. There has been a bit of a language barrier with a few of the staff but they still are very kind, and they do their job. My mom has a beautiful room, lots of sunlight and so far she has not complained about the food. Sure there are a few items she’s not fond of but overall she’s eating well. I’ve only met Denise in the dining room area and she’s been wonderful with my mom. The laundry staff is terrific(Vicki and Debbie), . Mom‘s clothes are hung and or folded nicely and put away where they belong (again I have comparison of the previous facility of her clothes being put away wet or shoved in a drawer or missing).. I worked in healthcare over 41 years and I don’t think these workers get enough respect or thanks. My sisters and I personally want to acknowledge the staff we see on a regular basis- Nancy, Mandy, Stephanie, Jayme, Kayleigh, Topango, Jessala, Theresa, Jessica, Jonas, Egan, Ben, George, Marie, Claudy and Guerdie. You are all special people and we appreciate everything you do. We as a family are thrilled with mom being at Golden Heights. I don’t feel the stress I did previously and feel we made the right decision.

My experience with this place is absolutely horrible. Worked with a placement agency and honestly she was unaware of 100%. I should get ahold of a lawyer still. Lack of knowledge all over. Couldn't properly operate oxygen. Pre dialysis meals were promised, not delivered due to times. Meals are sub par. Employees that couldn't speak English, or rather didn't want to communicate with anyone because that was easier, that is unacceptable in todays standards since we all have a cell phone in our pocket able to translate. Multiple times found care takers in their vehicle though the length of my stay, sometimes hours. Could barely operate a dexcom to keep track of blood sugar. Only person who was accountable and did above their job was the ground keeper Bill. Nurse Donna was only knowledgeable nurse. If you want you loved ones taken care of DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. They are also same ownwers of Waldens View so I would suspect same things are going on there as well. If I could rate it a 0 I absolutely would.

I would like to thank all the wonderful, hardworking aides at Golden Heights for their patience in caring for my husband. He is paralyzed, and in pain most of the time. He requires a lot of time and effort on their part. They are very friendly, kind, accommodating and help him as much as possible. However, at times there is a little bit of a language barrier. Donna is always ready and able to help with whatever is needed. Several health professionals have told me to be thankful my husband is at Golden Heights, it's the best facility, others, not so much. I'm Grateful & Blessed

We called to see if they could accept mom ii she were on hospice. They were wonderful. They sent Rob to talk with us. He was so nice and helped mom get a few extra days. You don't know how much that meant. Thank you and God Bless.

My father was well cared for here. He had been to 2 other facilities that where awful. At Golden Heights he was always treated with love, respect, patience and kindness. We never had to wait for assistance when we needed help. I am so thankful to the staff for being there for him. I never worried about how well he was cared for. I could just be is daughter.
